Alabama-born, The Muddy Water Band brings energy to small-town life with their latest single, “Working Man.” A traditional country song, “Working Man” tells the tale of a small town going through some hard times. “They have faith they’ll make it through,” tells the band. “Something always comes through when you need it.”

Packed with down-to-earth visuals and an authentic message, the “Working Man” video is captivating yet humble at the same time. Through storytelling lyrics and a captivating melody, “Working Man” demonstrates pure talent and understanding of human needs. To top off the delivery, strong and smooth guitar riffs end the song on a memorable note.

On the whole, The Muddy Water Band’s music can best be described as a blend of country and southern rock infused with blues and 90s alternative. According to the band, “it’s a pretty wide scope” that allows them to feed off each other’s creative differences. “When you put it all together, it’s very diverse. Not every song sounds the same.”

The band is comprised of Marcus (vocals, lead guitar), Joe (rhythm guitar), Travis (lead guitar II), Heath (drums), and Ethan (bass guitar). Each member contributes his own musical taste and talents, which is ultimately what gives The Muddy Water Band a sound uniquely theirs.

The band came together in 2008 when Joe decided to start one. After many performances and entertaining stories, the members of the band went their separate ways to take care of life’s necessities. It wasn’t until summer of 2020 that they reunited and picked up where they left off, adding two new members to the mix and a fresh set of original songs.

Working man is an understatement for the band, who is constantly working on their craft and performing where the music takes them. “As far as the music goes, we enjoy playing on a daily basis. Just like the title of the song, we’re working, trying to get by, and dreaming of taking it somewhere,” says the band. “We all have the desire and drive to go the distance. We’ll do whatever we have to do.”

This year, The Muddy Water Band is set to release their first album. They are currently in the process of finalizing the album, which they hope to release late this year or in spring of 2023. “We’re proud of this album we’re making. And the music video for our single. And getting local airplay on the station we listen to,” expresses the band in gratitude.

At the end of the day, performing for live audiences is one of the things they love most and do best. “There’s nothing like being on stage—it’s one of the best feelings you can get,” shares the band. “It’s enjoyable to have people listen to music you’ve created or rehearsed. It’s a satisfying experience to be able to look out and see people enjoy themselves.”

The Muddy Water Band wants listeners to know they appreciate them and everyone’s support. “We make music because it makes us feel good. It makes other people feel good as well,” they explain. “We’re not just messing around. We’re real. We’ve dedicated our lives to music. It’s always been a dream of all of ours to do this. We’re lucky we got this group together and we all share the same dream.”
