Songwriter and producer, Nick Broadhurst, delivers his latest single, “heaven is a heartbeat,” an ode to living fully in the moment, delivered through heartfelt lyrics and voice bursting with passion for life. The single, a track off his upcoming album, demonstrates a unique sound that blends the elements of piano and memorable vocals with electronica and synths.

“‘heaven is a heartbeat’ is about being here, in this moment, present. And how we can get caught up in so many things but ultimately it’s this search for heaven that goes back thousands of years—and heaven is right here in this body, in this moment,” explains Broadhurst of his new song.

Broadhurst’s latest single, out September 6, 2022, captures the present milestone of his musical journey—a deeper, more connected chapter of his story. The single is one track off his upcoming album, “We Belong,” which will be released in the upcoming year.

In search of a deeper understanding of self, Nick reflects and pauses in his new music, creating a meditative experience from track to track. Nick Broadhurst graduated from his role as an original member of the pop-group Sneaky Sound System to create a path of his own. A creator across many mediums, Broadhurst is a podcast host, meditation advocate, visual artist, entrepreneur, father, and husband, and embraces all of the parts that make him whole.

His debut album, “Thank You,” launched his solo career—amassing 22 million streams across all platforms and launching a sold-out Australia capital city tour—and was an opportunity for Nick to establish his own voice and image as an individual artist.

While his first album was a process of discovery, his latest record comes from a place of understanding and accepting where he has come from, who he is now, and where he is going. “I know what I want to share with the world and how I want people to feel when they listen to my music—light, expansive, hopeful,” shares Broadhurst.

“My second album has been a long time coming since the first. I’ve been searching to find that sound and message that has really felt authentic to me. It took longer than I thought, but I really feel like I have found this beautiful world for this album, which I’m really excited about.”

Broadhurst’s new sound comes from a combination of tapping into his voice in a different way—using a different vocal style than previously used—and teaming up with two co-producers—Eric Price (Ry X) and Todd Spadafore (Wu-Tang, Greyson Chance)—who helped him craft a fresh sound. “It took us a while to find that song palate together, but it produced a really beautiful sound for this album that I haven’t heard before.”

“Ultimately, I want to go on tour with this album and take people into that feeling but in a live environment—really amplify those feelings in a more controlled environment I can create to take them into this world,” Nick Broadhurst tells us. “I write my music to have listeners feel what I feel when the song comes to me. And that feeling is one of the best feelings in the world—a state of flow, divine intervention if you will. When it lands in your lap, there it is. Time is irrelevant. I want listeners to experience that. This music is in my name but it’s for them.”
