Hip hop and R&B artist Kush Driver is set to release his upcoming album, “On Demand,” on February 3, 2023. The 35-track album is a robust collection of hip hop and R&B songs, including many features with collaborators. “I want listeners to have fun with it,” exclaims Kush Driver. “I want to cater to every soul.”

Overall, the album is heartfelt with a dash of party elements. Kush Driver’s favorite single of the batch, “Body,” is inspired by romance and the beauty of the feminine form. Meanwhile, “Dance with You” and “Poppin’” are club songs, the kind that gets you out on the dance floor.

The Chicago native began writing music at a young age. Down the road, he left music and raised a family. “It’s one of those stories where it didn’t work out,” shares Kush Driver. Fortunately, music became an outlet for Kush Driver to overcome a state of depression and stay afloat. “Fly Away” and “Hold on,” two records of his latest album, speak to his inner fight and keeping strong through the trials and tribulations of life. They also represent becoming a believer in God after a lifetime of shying away from a religious upbringing.

“Let Freedom Ring” and “Knock Me Down” are two “power to the people” tracks according to Kush Driver. “I want to change the world for the better,” he shares. “I want listeners to know that I’m not God but I’m doing everything in my power to help make the world a better place.” His method for bringing about positive change and reducing gun violence is a boxing and music club directed toward city youth. “I’m opening up a club where young artists can get paid to perform and box. By paying them to be artists and boxers, we can keep kids off the street and away from gun violence and selling drugs.”

Writing music comes naturally to the artist. Kush Driver starts with a beat, often through his producer, MaestroG, and lets the beat speak for itself. “The beat tells a story,” explains Kush Driver. “From there I start one sentence at a time.” Then, artist continues to lay out each song in his home studio until it’s ready to go. As demonstrated by the 35 tracks on “On Demand,” creating music is more than a passion for the artist—it’s a gift.

After his album comes out in February, Kush Driver is excited to turn toward live performances with a few of his feature artists in tow. Listeners looking forward to Kush Driver’s “On Demand” should take this time to listen to one of his most popular singles, “Beyonce and Jay-Z,” along with an accompanying music video.
