For about two years, Milo 5G has been developing his craft and honing in on his unique sound. Working with CELL BLOCK Entertainment—a group of independent artists brought together by their passion for music—Milo 5G has been on a musical journey.
His latest single, “Therapy,” came together after a few session in the studio. “It’s one of the best songs I’ve put out so far,” shares the artist. “A lot of thought went into it.” Aa7, a long time confidant and friend of Milo 5G, mixed and mastered “Therapy” afterwards.
“Therapy,” like much of Milo 5G’s music, is poetic. “It’s got a melodic feel to it. People would say my music is dark sometimes. I’m poetic, so it’s very poetic music. A lot of things I say might go over someone’s head the first time they hear it. But honestly, you could tell from my songs that I have come to peace with a lot of things, too.”
The Mississippi-based musician is excited to gain recognition in his hometown. “I’m better than what a lot of people think I am. That’s why I’m excited for my music and videos to take off. I want my community to see what I’m doing,” explains Milo 5G. “‘Therapy’ shows my versatility over time and how I’ve grown as an artist. It’s the turning point of finding my own sound and honing it.”
Not only is Milo 5G excited about “Therapy,” he also has three new music videos on the horizon. All three were recently shot on a 12+ hour shoot spanning multiple towns and locations in Mississippi. “Element,” “Active,” and “Therapy,” were all filmed with J Hinds, a Houston-based videographer who flew into Mississippi for the shoot. They started the day filming “Element” and made their way throughout the area—playing basketball, talking to people, eating food, and driving around. By the time they wrapped up “Therapy,” it was 9pm and they had been shooting all day. “It was a wild shoot,” exclaims Milo 5G. “I want to give a lot of thanks to Aa7 for growing along with me.”
Milo 5G wants listeners to find what they’re passionate about and go for it. “Find yourself in whatever you’re trying to accomplish,” says the artist. “If you need to vent, vent—but in a positive way. Rock out, go crazy. Just hone your craft and go crazy with it. Do what everyone else won’t do.”
