Alex Palmgren has been yodeling for almost his entire life. Born in Bulgaria, Palmgren was adopted as a child. At a young age, he grew fond of Jesse the Cowgirl, the yodeling, vibrant character from Toy Story. Soon enough, the young Palmgren sought not only to learn how to yodel but to become a world-class yodeler. By age 6, he had taught himself to yodel and began entering competitions. By age 16, he was recognized as the fifth fastest yodeler in the world.
At this point, Alex Palmgren found himself thinking, “I’m good at what I do, yet I want to do what no one else does. Make my own beats and yodel to them.” It was at this point that Palmgren’s homegrown approach to techno yodeling was born.
Creating music is simple for Palmgren. “I have a corner in my house where I make music. I’ll record beats and then add my voice in with a podcast mic, then record it. I don’t use software often. My music isn’t synthesized.”
“Its music meant for clubbing,” explains Palmgren. “I want listeners to be able to drink and have fun to my music in a fun, safe way. It’s also very unique. I’m the only one who does techno and yodeling at the same time.”
Pro Yodeler’s devout passion for yodeling is what sets him apart as an artist and performer. With 17 videos on YouTube, he’s just getting started sharing his music with others. In the future, Palmgren is looking to perform his music to live audiences. “I just want the world to know that I’m the only one out here who specializes in this type of sound.
