Summer is here: the season of tan lines, sparklers, sitting by the fire pit, and, of course, summer anthems. New York City-based powerhouse Kira Rizavi kicks off summer right with her new scorching hot single, Chasing My Chances–a tune that is pure ebullient energy, ideal for dancing in the sand or sipping drinks around the pool with friends.
The track was produced by Tony Coluccio of Global Media Music, who has created over 20 Billboard #1 Dance Hit remixes of Beyonce, Christina Aguilera, Whitney Houston and Donna Summer. And, like most Kira Rizavi songs, it doesn’t sacrifice female empowerment in the name of sex appeal. When Rizavi commands, “I don’t want to change who I am, boy / And I don’t want to leave where I am, boy,” you know no summer fling will stand in the way of self-love and ambition.
Chasing My Chances also marks Kira Rizavi’s first foray into rap:
I loved working with my friend Jahi Bandele, creating the perfect vibe for this piece. I also played with more harmonies and vocal layering. It was fun mixing in everything from whistling to my natural speaking voice. What we created is perfect for a party with everyone jumping to the beat.
