Hailing from Houston, Texas, 20-year-old musician and artist, Ohsocobe, has created the perfect song for summer with his latest release, “Sea Of Regret.” Complete with a music video, the single is a work of art—a refreshing, unique sound complete with guitar riffs, thoughtful lyrics, and a catchy hook.

To create “Sea Of Regret,” Ohsocobe “freestyled the song, making the hook first and then basing what I was feeling off the hook.” “It’s the feeling that even though you can’t stay in the past, you can leave it behind and become a better person to become who you’re supposed to be,” he explains of the meaning behind the song. “I want listeners to know that life is about being a better version of yourself, even when things go wrong. You gotta stay on the right path anyway and chase your dreams.”

For Ohsocobe, music is more than a career path—it’s a calling. “I’ve been making music since I was 14 and I want the world to finally hear what I’ve been through in life. Music is my passion and the way I express my art from the inside of my soul. One day I hope to be a well-known, respected artist who helps the world be better through music.”

“In high school, everyone was telling me I looked like I made music—and I already wanted to make it—so it was perfect. I began making music to make art. I make songs about real life—I don’t rap about just nothing,” he adds. The artists who have influenced Ohsocobe’s music over the years include Michael Jackson, Prince, and Jimi Hendrix. The self-taught musician even learned guitar on his own through YouTube videos and countless hours of practice.

While many rappers rely on beats from YouTube and other sources, Ohsocobe believes in creating something he can fully own. Together with his producer, Ohsocobe works on the beats behind his songs. “He makes the beats, I do the guitar,” explains the artist. He also shoots and edits his own videos, enabling him to release them as frequently as he likes. “All of my 2023 song releases had a video drop the same day as the song. I was trying to do one music video every two months.”

For the rest of the year, Ohsocobe is focused on making more music videos to deliver to his fans. Next year he’s hoping to drop his first studio album with the support of a label. “I like the direction I’m going in right now. Everyone wants to put their songs on TikTok and does the same things. But I want to get a true following that respects my music for what it really is.”

Make sure to stay connected to Ohsocobe on all platforms for new music, videos, and social posts.
