Texas-based hip-hop artist, Say Tony, is set to release his latest project, an 11-track album called PO$ITIVE MANNER. Coming out July 7, 2023, the album features a mix of genres from R&B to house, with hip hop purely at the core.

“What inspired me to write the album was just trying to show my versatility on different songs while staying true to myself. I want listeners to know that regardless of things you may deal with, it’s best to worry about controlling your response to it vs. trying to control what’s happening,” shares the artist of his latest work.

The album features singles “Trap Poet” and “Feel Good.” “Trap Poet,” was created through a collaboration with his producer. “I was inspired by an Instagram snippet that clicked for me, so I took it to my producer who helped me see the vision through.” As for the other 10 songs on the album, “I hand selected beats that fit the sound I was shooting for,” shares the artist.

“I’ve always loved music. It’s everything for me,” shares Say Tony. “I don’t recall one point in my life where I feel like it was quiet. As life went on, I tapped more into my creativity and found music as a way of expressing myself.”

Born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, Say Tony began making music around the summer of 2021 in Dallas, Texas, where he currently resides. While Say Tony began working on his album long before, he was motivated to finish his project when his father passed in January 2023. “He taught me to follow my intuition,” shares Say Tony. It’s partly the artist’s intuition that has allowed him to stay authentic throughout his growth and career.

Music has always been a presence in Say Tony’s life. From early childhood to present day, it has played a huge role in his existence and identity. “I didn’t always write music, but I always had a love for it. I grew up with the music of my mother and father and was able to experience different eras of music. I grew up listening to music from my friends, family, parents, and environment. From my hometown artist, Nelly, to Naz, Tupac, JayZ, Biggie… the list goes on. Michael Jackson. Old school artists. I was inspired by a lot of different music.

In addition to expressing himself creatively, Say Tony has a larger purpose to writing music. “I want to impact listeners through more peace in themselves and peace from trying to control things. I want them to have more faith. People can allow things to control them and feel like things are dictated for them. But if they make the decision to go forth, they can live in a positive manner.”

This summer, Say Tony is looking forward to creating more visuals for his album before moving on to the next project. “I want to continue to grow and listen and learn. Making music is more than about the money—it’s about the purpose,” adds the artist.
