Pnpmar has released a remix to the Latto’s “Put it On Da Floor”, with the 23-year-old Philadelphia based rapper diving deep into the track with his own personal flavor through a driving flow of lyrics.

“I heard that song and the beat is fire, but she made it even better,” said Pnpmar. “It just kept getting better. They put the instrumental out to it. I was telling my brother to make something to it, but the more I listened to it, the more I just kept hearing myself on it. One thing about me is that when I hear a note or a melody, it only takes me a second to know I can put myself on it.”

Pnpmar explained that he was free-styling to the instrumental, and started out with the opening line “Keep me in the plastic, fuck acting brand new.” This was play on Latto’s “Rip me out the plastic, I been actin' brand-new.” He said that while he has a background writing poetry, he mostly freestyles in a way called punching in, which is how he gets in the zone.

“Ad-libs-wise, I just let the song play and I just let whatever come out, come out,” he said. “I pick the best ad-libs and run it three or four more times, when it comes to a hip-hop song. It makes it easier and free. It gives a better vibe and you can feel my energy more, because it is natural. It doesn’t feel fabricated. It feels more authentic.”

Pnpmar releases music under his label Gutter Flow Entertainment, explaining that gutter flow represents the bottom. He said from the outside perspective people could think that it represents the hood. This could be the case for some, but the gutter can be much more.

“When I say Gutter Flow Entertainment, I mean the bottom of anything-there can be all different kinds of gutters,” he said. “There could be gutter when you’re around with gangs, or poor. Maybe even just middle class and can’t make it out of the middle class. Everyone has their own definition of the gutter.”

He added, “Gutter Flow Entertainment represents being creative, pushing forward and starting from anywhere at any kind of bottom. We’ve got different struggles, but at the end of the day, if you’re at the bottom, you’re there with other people- just a different lifestyle.”

Pnpmar has an affinity for music of all types, whether it be classic piano, rock and roll, or R&B. These days he focuses much more on the hip hop side of things. For hip-hop, Pnpmar has been inspired by listening to the likes of Tory Lanez, DaBaby, 2Pac and Biggie. He started making his own beats after seeing a friend and fellow musician doing the same, and receiving high praise for his work. He was inspired by him and while he was never one to love attention, Pnpmar enjoys receiving the positive reactions to what he has created.

“I really focus on hip hop, rap and R&B,” Pnpmar said. “When I first started getting close to creating music I was doing a lot of poems. I did that first and then I did some short instagram challenges, and doing them over beats by Neo, Alicia Keys, stuff like that.”

Pnpmar said that he likes to freestyle and take inspirations from his own life, but also uses his imagination to dive into a world that others can still relate to when listening.
