Brent Faiyaz enlists Lupita Nyong’o as his leading lady in his latest music video. The R&B singer teased a project with the Academy Award-winning actress and now fans can view the fruits of their labor. Directed by Markpeaced, the music video for “WY@” finds the pair in an action-packed pursuit.

In the creative visual, the couple is faced with processing their own conflict as well as what is described as a “frenetic car chase through a dystopian desert.”

As emotion builds, it is revealed that the two are shooting a fictional film as a director ends the scene.

“I’m a procrastinator, I’m a frivolous spender, and I definitely spend a lot of time with a lot of different women. That record reflects having access and opportunity, and having to say no to certain sh*t — or the inability to say no to certain sh*t,” explained the 28-year-old of “WY@” to Rolling Stone.

“That record is about addiction in a way, shape, or form, but more from the perspective of submitting to it versus fighting against it. It touches on addiction in a way that makes it a little more seductive. That’s on some, ‘Where you at?’ That late-night text you send, you probably been drinking a little bit, been outside, know you shouldn’t do that sh*t — but f**k it. The access is always gonna be there, so I’m gonna pull up.”

“WY@” comes from Faiyaz’s latest release, Larger Than Life, his first under his ISO Supremacy imprint in partnership with UnitedMasters. Issued in October 2023, the project features guest appearances from ASAP Ant, ASAP Rocky, Babyface Ray, Coco Jones, Cruddy Murda, Felix!, Flee, Lil Gray, Missy Elliott, N3WYRKLA, Princess Cro, Tommy Richman, and TTM Dawg.

Larger Than Life debuted at No. 11 on the Billboard 200 chart and reached No. 2 on the Independent Albums Chart, as well as No. 2 on the Global Spotify Album Chart and No. 2 on the US Spotify Album Chart.
