Singer-songwriter, Syrinn—also known as Kerinne Marnae—delivers her harmonious new single, “No Turning Back.” The single arrives just in time for Valentine’s Day to sooth our souls and inspire tranquility.

The artist’s name, “Syrinn,” is an evolution of the mythical siren, or mermaid, who was known to enrapture her audiences with her captivating voice. “Mermaids used their voices to lure people, to persuade them,” explains Syrinn of her moniker.

Syrinn hopes to move listeners with her own music. “I want them to be able to listen to my music and have undeniable emotion. I want them to cry. To laugh. I want them to feel me, understand where I am coming from. I want them to relate. I want them to say, ‘it looks like we have nothing in common from the outside, but when I hear her voice, we have everything in common.’”

From a young age, Syrinn became a stewardess of music. The third oldest of ten siblings—many of whom enjoyed music—Syrinn became a student and mentor in the craft of music to help her siblings learn its technicalities and intricacies. In her early teens, she joined the Settlement Music School in Willow Grove Pennsylvania and brought home her learnings to continue her siblings’ musical education. Flashing forward a handful of years—Syrinn graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with years of experience in performing and a bachelor’s degree.

These days, Syrinn can be found collaborating with influential artists such as Eric Bellenger and Tiffany Evans, and crafting songs for other artists. Combining her years of experience and training with her relentless work ethic, Syrinn approaches her solo career with wit and perseverance. The artist’s unique rending of R&B, soul, and jazz immerses listeners in a healing tranquility of sound.

Her fresh single, “No Turning Back,” is due out on Valentine’s Day—February 14,2024—just in time to sooth listeners into a relaxing, joyous vibe. The song is designed to dive deep into the intricacies of music—the harmonies and the details. “It derives from rebranding myself as ‘Syrinn,’” shares the artist. “It’s the first piece to say who I am now.”

When it comes to writing music, Syrinn has a tried-and-true process. First, she sorts through beats until one speaks to her. “From there, the beat will give the vibe of the song,” she explains. “I usually don’t go into a song knowing what I’m going to talk about. I listen to what the beat makes me feel, then I come up with the concept of the song.” From that point, Syrinn lets the lyrics evolve over the course of one or two weeks, lyric by lyric, word by word, melody by melody. Then, she has a masterpiece.

For “No Turning Back,” Syrinn turned to her brother, and co-writer, for advice. “He’s my 22-year-old brother, but I taught him everything I know,” shares Syrinn. “He has grown on his own and has records with top people in the industry. I look up to him and take his advice seriously,” she adds.

This autumn, listeners can look forward to Syrinn’s debut project, set for a late September release. The album will highlight her R&B, soul, and jazz-inspired sound. Additionally, a music video accompanying her single is currently in production.

Make sure to stay connected to Syrinn on all platforms for new music, videos, and social posts.
