Ming Luanli, the younger sister of Nicki Minaj, is following in her elder siblings’ footsteps in music with her appearance on a new song titled “Do It Again.”
Released on Friday (March 8) by Rakeem Love, “Do It Again” includes a pair of guest verses from Luanli, who showcases her rapping and singing abilities while touching on matters of the heart.
“You’re acting suspicious, you don’t know what you do to me/ You’re after these bi**hes and wanna act like you glued to me,” the newcomer rhymes atop a brooding backdrop.
“You’re causing me glitches, the sh*t don’t compute to me/ Like 1+1+1 will never make 2 to me/ You’re treating me brutally,” she adds, before Rakeem Love swoops in with vocals of his own.
Later on in the song, Ming bids her erstwhile lover farewell, rhyming, “My condolences, you lost a real one to a poser/ Closing this door’s the only way I’m getting closure,” as she and her costar harmonize while closing out the track.
In the song’s accompanying music video, which is set in New York City, Luanli is seen traveling on the train and out about in Manhattan, while Rakeem Love roams about the city, passionately belting out lyrics in a lovelorn state.
Directed by City Island Productions, which previously produced music videos by Ice Spice and JT of the City Girls, the visual was created in conjunction with Quantum Swap AI, a crypto exchange venture in which Luanli and Love hold ownership stakes.
While Ming Luanli has jumpstarted her music career with “Do It Again,” her sister is currently on the road in support of her fifth studio album Pink Friday 2. The North American leg of the tour, which began earlier this month, includes dates in Los Angeles, New Orleans, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Toronto, Chicago, and New York City.
In May, Minaj will resume the Pink Friday 2 World Tour with European dates, as the rapper will be hitting the UK, France, Germany, Portugal, Italy, and more.
