Singer, songwriter and producer Erick Alonso Moreno, known by his stage name as El Chico, has unveiled his latest single, “Do You Remember,” marking the first release from his eagerly anticipated album, Songs for the Future, Echoes of the Past.

This new track seamlessly blends alternative, pop and folk elements, showcasing El Chico’s diverse musical influences and rich life experiences. With its soft, reflective and soothing melody, “Do You Remember” is the quintessential soundtrack for a serene summer road trip or a laid-back weekend with loved ones.

The emotive harmonies highlight El Chico’s unique ability to transcend genres and connect deeply with his audience.

“With all my projects, I want to create music that everyone can relate to and not just people who share my experience,” shared El Chico.

Originally from San Luis Potosí, Mexico, El Chico grew up in Tijuana, Baja California, and now calls Ontario, California home. These varied experiences contribute to his dynamic blend of pop, alternative, folk, and Latin influences. Singing in English and Spanish, El Chico aims to connect with audiences across languages and cultural barriers.

His latest single, “Do You Remember,” is in English, as are several other tracks, designed to resonate universally.

“I haven’t seen many Hispanic artists who come to the States and focus on singing equally in English and Spanish or primarily in English,” said El Chico. “I also enjoy the challenge of communicating with people in another language. I like being able to inspire people from different walks of life.”

While music has been a cornerstone of his life since the age of 10, El Chico did not initially plan to pursue it professionally. His journey into the music industry unfolded organically, with much of his foundational knowledge stemming from playing in his cousin’s band. It wasn’t until about seven years ago that he began to approach music with a serious, professional intent, culminating in the release of his first body of work four years ago.

“I did learn a lot playing with my cousin, but it wasn’t until I was much older that I took it seriously. I started not too long after COVID,” said El Chico. “Outside of what I learned with my cousin and his band, everything else I taught myself. But I did reach out to him for guidance over the years as my passions grew, especially regarding the work I was doing on the guitar.”

Beyond his vocal talents, El Chico’s passion for the guitar and piano shines through in his upcoming album, Songs for the Future, Echoes of the Past, set for release at the end of this year.

Before the album drops, fans can look forward to another single, “Don’t,” featuring an alternative beat and pop melody, diverging from his usual country and folk influences. Accompanied by a lyrical video, “Don’t” promises to captivate audiences with its unique sound. Meanwhile, “Do You Remember” will be available on all music streaming platforms starting June 28.

Be sure to explore El Chico’s entire discography, available across streaming platforms, and follow him on social media for the latest updates, appearances, behind-the-scenes glimpses, and more.
