Singer-songwriter Wadena Pyatt returns to hip-hop and R&B with her new single “Smoke-N-Chill,” a product of her collaboration with Grammy-winning Producer Zaytoven. “Smoke-N-Chill” will be released on Aug. 30, 2024, on all streaming platforms.

“Smoke-N-Chill” marks Wadena’s long-awaited return after her decade-long hiatus due to the seasoned musician’s constant run-in with obstacles set before her by music industry bigwigs who she says attempted to dim her light, stole credit for her work, and hinder her from progressing in the industry, including releasing her music.

But Wadena’s a fighter in different ways. First, she challenged the bigwigs in court to gain back what they stole and she deserved. Second, she persisted in releasing her music, knowing the shift it would make in the hip-hop and R&B world. Fortunately, Zaytoven, a renowned producer known to have worked with big industry names like Usher, Gucci Mane and Future, came into her corner and helped the songwriter, ultimately birthing “Smoke-N-Chill.”

Along with Zaytoven, Wadena collaborated with her sister, LT, to produce this flavorful masterpiece, which brings a twist to trap music and encourages listeners to relax and chill. “Smoke-N-Chill” exemplifies Wadena’s ability to captivate listeners with her unique style while hitting them with nostalgia by blending trap and southern rap with New York-style hip hop, pop and R&B.

“It’s a new vibe, a new chill and relaxing vibe for any time,” Wadena says. “(Some) may try to hide it, but a lot of people have that vibe where they just smoke and chill with their partner. So, when they hear ‘Smoke-N-Chill,’ I want them to have that new vibe.”

“Smoke-N-Chill” will drop on Aug. 30 and is the perfect bop to unwind to while grilling and chilling on Labor Day weekend.

Formerly linked to MBK Entertainment—a record label known for its roster of acclaimed artists such as Alicia Keys, SWV, K. Michelle, H.E.R., Tyrese, and Elle Varner—the Long Island singer-songwriter has nearly two decades of professional experience in the music industry. But her seemingly never-ending fight with industry kingpins gave her a story to tell the world, which she’s planning to share in her tell-all memoir, Chains Broken, soon to be released.

Wadena also has many songs locked up in the vault that listeners have yet to hear, including her exciting collaboration with her sister and Grammy-winning producer and artist Lil Jon, “Drop Dem Booties.” She partnered with established artist and producer Eren Cannata for a song called “Girl Play Revised,” which will give listeners a unique listening experience.

Check out “Smoke-N-Chill” on all streaming platforms on Aug. 30.
