IDLES have announced a homecoming Bristol Block Party slated for next year and marking their only UK gigs of 2025.

The Bristol punk group have taken to their official Instagram and shared that they will be headlining the Bristol Block Party, a two-night fest occurring on August 1 and 2. The two nights will see them take over Queen Square – marking the first mass live music event at the site in over two decades.

IDLES are set to be joined by very special guests, DJs and the best of Bristol’s street food and drink scene. Speaking about the events in the caption of their Instagram post, the band shared: “We are coming home. We’re putting on a couple of parties in @queensquarebristol with music we love for the people we love. All is love x.”

Tickets for the event are set to go on sale this Friday (November 8) at 10am GMT. Visit here to purchase tickets.

Speaking about the event in a press release, Daniel Ealam and Scott O’Neill – promoters at Communion ONE who are putting on the shows – said: “We cannot wait to bring this event to Queen Square. It’s a space that’s right at the heart of the city which already brings some unforgettable communal experiences to the community and partnering with IDLES, a band that embodies the spirit and resilience of Bristol, makes this even more significant for us. We love Bristol and everything that it represents so it’s important to us that we curate a new event with the people and the fans at the forefront. And let’s face it, Bristol in the summer – you just can’t beat it.”

IDLES released their fifth and latest studio album, ‘Tangk’, in February. In a four-star review, NME described the record as “an adventure into pastures new”.

Earlier this summer, IDLES headlined the Other Stage at Glastonbury 2024NME gave the set a full five stars, calling it “a truly incendiary show” and “a claim to headline the Pyramid in the future”.

In other news, the band have been announced as performers of the 2025 edition of Primavera Sound. Other acts set to play at the Spaniard festival include  LCD SoundsystemFKA TwigsHAIMJamie xxFontaines D.C.Beach House,  ClairoTurnstile and more.
