Camden, NJ – March 30, 2025 – Gospel singer, songwriter, and caregiver Nicole Joyce and her group, the Voices of Praise, are proud to announce the release of their latest single, "Rest in You." A beautifully crafted anthem, "Rest in You," features a blend of soulful melodies and potent instrumentals, with her son Tyler’s stirring vocals as the anchor. The song exudes both a sense of peace and empowerment as Joyce shares her deeply personal journey of seeking solace and strength through her connection with God.

"Rest in You" came from a place "deep within the inner chambers of my heart," says Nicole Joyce. "It's the only place I can go alone where I find my rest, my strength, where I seek His presence." In the song, Joyce emphasizes the importance of finding quiet moments to reconnect with God, much like "recharging" a dead battery. "Just like your cell phone, the only way to be charged up is to connect to a power source. When I connect inwardly to God, that’s where I draw my strength."

This heartfelt reflection on the power of solitude with God resonates deeply with Joyce, especially in times of personal loss. After the death of her mother in 2021, Joyce found that her songwriting, including "Rest in You," became a crucial tool for healing. "Sometimes I can grieve my mom a little bit," she admits. "So, I have to go to that secret place and gather my strength. It’s like recharging my soul, recharging my spirit."

In crafting "Rest in You," Joyce draws on her own experiences of finding solace in her faith, hoping that listeners will also discover a sanctuary in the song. "No matter what you're going through, there is a quiet place, a secret place where the soul can rest," Joyce shares. "Even if the doctor just diagnosed you with stage four cancer and said, 'There’s nothing else we can do,' there is a place where your soul can find rest and strength in God."

The songwriting process behind "Rest in You" is deeply spiritual for Joyce. "Before I write something, I usually start singing about something that I’m going through. As I write, I ask God to inspire me and uplift others," she explains. "It starts to come together naturally as if God is guiding me." Her method of songwriting is deeply intertwined with her faith, as she seeks divine inspiration for each word and note. Joyce recalls how some of her most personal songs, like "I Had to Go Through It" and "Take This Cup," came to life through this connection.

The emotional depth of "Rest in You" is heightened by the challenges Joyce has faced throughout her life, from the painful loss of loved ones to growing up in a difficult household. Joyce reflects, "I knew gospel changes the atmosphere. When I was a child, I would sing through the vents in my room while my dad was being violent with my mom, and the atmosphere would change. It was like the devil couldn't stand it." For Joyce, writing and singing gospel music is more than a form of expression—it’s a powerful tool for shifting the spiritual atmosphere and combating the challenges of life.

Joyce's mission in creating music is to offer hope and healing. "Writing gospel is therapy for me," she says. "It helps me think about the goodness and greatness of God. It’s like food for my soul. I write to encourage myself, and then I want others to be uplifted by it as well." With "Rest in You," Joyce hopes that listeners will find peace and strength, regardless of the difficulties they may be facing. "I want them to leave singing, 'Lord, I rest in You. You're with me in times of trouble. I cast all my cares on You. You're my hope for tomorrow.'"

As a gifted singer and songwriter, Nicole Joyce has become a powerful voice in gospel music, passionate about uplifting and encouraging others. Born and raised in Camden, NJ, Joyce began writing gospel songs at 12, using music to uplift her spirit and inspire those around her. Her music is not only a reflection of her own spiritual journey but also a way to help others navigate their own challenges. Her song "Rest in You" represents her unwavering faith in God and dedication to spreading His message of hope and strength.

"Rest in You" is available on Soundcloud.
