Introducing with “OMG,” a ringing, chiming, thumping, fun summertime hip-hop track, Tookie3x, a new artist from Vicksburg, Mississippi.

It’s a guy and a girl and a fast-moving party in a convertible.

“It tells a story of having a good time in the drop-top — kicking back, smoking with your girlfriend,” said Tookie.

“It’s like, ‘Oh my God!,’ having a good time, flying, living life.”

Oh My God
I’m so fly
Hop in my ride
Come get inside
Ima show you sum

I’m in a old school
I got the top down smoking on leaves
I got my bae with me and a whole lotta stacks and that’s all that I need

Tookie raps out the lyrics high-speed and at the same time makes his voice part of the instrumentation. It is a fun listen, just for the sound, and the story it tells is like a bonus.

“I want people to connect with it and just enjoy the song as a whole,” he said. “They’ll know I had fun creating it. They’ll hear, just by the way it comes out, I had fun making it, and I want them to enjoy it, too.”

And, he added, “The bass really hits hard. You can feel it.”

This is the first song that the 20-year-old Tookie has released, and it comes eight or nine months after he decided to get serious about a music career.

Tookie, inspired by Michael Jackson, has high ambitions for his music. He says he is “on a mission to become the greatest musician in the world.” He seeks to put MJ-level passion, showmanship and innovation in his songs.

His plan to do that is simplicity itself: “Keep making great music.”

Though he only got serious about it last year, a profession as a musical artist has been a lifelong dream.

“I’ve always been singing. I’ve been rapping and singing and doing talent concerts since I was a child. So all the challenges I just transferred over to a career.”

Michael Jackson may be his inspiration, but it also comes from his family.

“My mother was a blues singer,” he said, “so I’ve always wanted to do this, always wanted to be a musical artist, and I guess the time is just here.”

In addition to the talent contests and musical challenges, he performs live wherever and whenever he can.

“I perform anywhere I’m booked.”

Tookie produces and records his own songs, but he doesn’t write the lyrics — he freestyles them.

“I don’t write songs,” he said. “I get in the studio, turn the lights off, and I just feel the beat — I listen to the beat and like, 10 seconds in, I’m ready to go.”

Another rare aspect of his art is that his songs have no profanity, no obscenity.

His manager, Jermaine Smith, said this song is the world’s introduction to Tookie3x. he has been preparing himself and being prepared for his coming out.

“He’s been introduced to different people who are really helping him along the way, because all he do is make music, rap and sing, and now the pieces are in place. He is on the Internet and he has videos out and more coming — a lot of different things his talent has brought about.”

What he wants is a sound that blends “classic hip-hop influences with modern innovation.”

In “OMG,” that has produced a song that really is like an open-air party flying down the highway at 90 miles an hour.
