Bringing with him a vast portfolio of film, tv, and game compositions, Tullera is embarking on his newest venture: his debut EP, “Still Becoming.”

Hailing from Brisbane, Australia, the genre-blending musical artist combines electronic and Neo-classical elements to cultivate a musical journey for his listeners. Tullera believes in the power of music as both a therapeutic tool and means of connecting with others on a similar life journey.

“When I was in high school, I found music to be therapeutic,” shares the artist. “I learned how to write on my own. I grew up playing guitar in metal and alternative bands and still enjoy that kind of music. I eventually went and studied TV and film, which helped me break into the media industry and got me into cinematic and ambient music.”

With an impressive home studio, Tullera is able to focus his talent on creating unique sounds for his many varied projects. “I’m a stronger person now,” he shares. “When I’m writing music, I might sit on an idea that feels like musical journaling. It helps me process what I’m feeling in the present moment and past.”

“Basically, writing music has always helped me in many ways throughout my life. During adolescence, I became aware that many others around me seemed to understand something about life that I didn’t. I was diagnosed with different mental health conditions throughout life that helped in some ways but never quite gave a full explanation,” explains Tullera of the experiences that have shaped him. “I recently discovered I’m neurodivergent in many ways, and my brain was always working differently to what we call the ‘usual’ way. So, I’ve been rediscovering myself and working on making life make more sense for my authentic self. I still have plenty to work through.”

According to Tullera, “Still Becoming” is based on a pretty profound, fantastic feeling he recently experienced. “I hope others who relate to my story of youth will relate to this feeling which I have now. That is, I’ve healed enough. I’ve made ‘it’ enough in life that I’m not always in survival mode. I have a lot to be grateful for. I also have a long way to go,” he adds. “I don’t think the work we do on ourselves ever stops, but I’m celebrating where I am at now while I’m still becoming and going forward.”

Through his music, Tullera hopes to connect with listeners who share or connect with his experience, especially on the journey of mental health. “I’ve been working on my spirituality and learning about psychology and journaling. Life is a crooked road at best for many of us. The path isn’t perfect, but we have to find a way to make it work. That’s really what I’m about at the moment—feeling fully and being vulnerable and feeling the fullness of the human heart, which isn’t something I was feeling for most of my life.”

Ultimately, Tullera hopes to incorporate his music into live therapeutic sessions with people. “If you’re writing music you personally connect to rather than trying to please everyone, it results in something people will connect to more. It’s important to be authentic,” explains the artist.

As a public speaker and advocate for mental health awareness, Tullera is not afraid to bring his work in front of live audiences. For his live shows, he plans to prioritize connection over perfection. “I try not to get overwhelmed planning, but some things will be organized, then I’ll bring my laptop and synth and record a live loop on guitar or keyboard while incorporating loops I’ve already developed.”

In the upcoming year, Tullera plans to follow up his EP with a full-length album, which is in the works. While putting out new music, he will continue to work as a film and games composer, which he greatly enjoys. “I used to think about the outcome, but these days I’m trying to enjoy the fruits of doing,” shares Tullera. “Music is my happy place.”
