Seasoned singer and performer, William Butler, gifts listeners the heartfelt single, “Hey Lord,” off his album Hey Lord. A lifelong devotee to gospel music, William Butler looks forward to sharing his unique style of contemporary gospel with listeners all over the world.

William Butler’s career in performance began at church, where he developed a passion for music at a very young age. “I was always into gospel music,” shares the artist. “I sang in the church choir until my late teens.” As a teenager, William went on to explore secular music and eventually joined a handful of bands over the years.

After leaving the last of his bands, William Butler began performing as a solo artist. While he has a bit of piano playing experience from early years, William Butler’s main focus is his singing.

His first singles include “Hey Lord” and “Jesus, Thank You for Your Love.”

William Butler doesn’t need to go far for inspiration to strike during the songwriting process. “Writing was a gift,” he shares. “I would be lying in bed, and a song would come to me. I’d wake up in the morning and remember how it went, then write the whole song. This happened over and over. It was sent from God to me.”

His current single, “Hey Lord” shares its title with the full-length album. “It’s a song I really love and have a lot of hope and faith in,” shares the singer. “It’s a song that asks a question, ‘What do you want me to do? What do you want me to be?’ And then says, ‘I’ll follow you, no matter what quest you have for me—I’ll do it. You brought me this far and continue to carry me. So, I obey your will and your way.’”

“Once listeners hear this song, they’ll understand the lyrics and relate them to their lives—especially people who are into gospel music already,” he adds. “When people hear my music, I want it to be people who are involved in spiritual things. It’s not secular music. It’s contemporary gospel. It’s a crossover for people who aren’t totally Christian but might become it.”

In addition to “Hey Lord,” listeners are encouraged to tune into the entire album. “There are nine other great songs on there,” adds William. Some were written a long time ago, while others are more recent.

Beyond his recordings, William enjoys sharing his music through live performances. He welcomes event coordinators and venues to reach out to him to inquire about his music. From Las Vegas to Ireland, Hawaii to Alabama, there’s nowhere William Butler won’t go to spread his love of music.

Ultimately, William Butler just wants his music to be heard. “I know my music can rise above. I want to spread my music around the world,” says the singer. “If listeners want to hear my music, they can find me on all the platforms. I also have a video for ‘Hey Lord’ available on YouTube.”

Make sure to stay connected to William Butler on all platforms for new music, videos, and social posts.
