If you enjoy rich, expressive production paired with honest and emotional lyricism, Navy Blue has always been someone you can count on. His newest project The Sword & The Soaring arrives with a breathtaking sixteen-track lineup that is sure to leave a lasting impression. Right from the opening moments, you are greeted by beautiful piano work on the intro titled "The Bloodletter." That blend of sound flows naturally into "Orchards," which continues with more piano elements along with a few vocal samples that add extra warmth. For most of the album, Navy Blue carries the tracks entirely on his own. Even so, listeners are treated to an outstanding Earl Sweatshirt appearance on "24 Gospel." It is uncommon for new albums to arrive on a Tuesday, so make sure you give this one the attention it deserves.
