FreshMusicWorld: When did you first realize you wanted to be a musician?
SAMM!: Around the age of 7, by then I was performing, playing instruments, in broadways, dance lessons, acting lessons, gymnastics & competitions, I did a lot. I was drawn to music, and I knew then that’s what I loved and wanted to focus on.
FreshMusicWorld: What was the first song you ever wrote, and what inspired it?
SAMM!: Too Deep, which I will be releasing next year, inspired by myself, love, loss, self-reflection, and realisation.
FreshMusicWorld: What challenges did you face early in your career, and how did you overcome them?
SAMM!: Not giving up, when something doesn’t seem to ‘work out’, I work through it. Believing in myself.
FreshMusicWorld: Who was your first major musical mentor, and what did you learn from them?
SAMM!: My older Brother Charlie, he was creator an Artist. He taught me to never be a ‘sheep’. He was so fearless.
FreshMusicWorld: What’s the story behind your favorite song you’ve written?
SAMM!: Alice, unreleased also. This is a mindtrip song, I got inspiration from The Never Ending Story & Alice in Wonderland, it’s all about self-reflection and how your mind can play tricks on you.
FreshMusicWorld: What’s something about you that fans might be surprised to learn?
SAMM!: I was born in Australia, my mum is Asian/Spanish, and my dad is English.
FreshMusicWorld: Where do you find inspiration for your lyrics and melodies?
SAMM!: Past experiences, stories, movies, poetry. It’s a mixture.
FreshMusicWorld: Have you ever had a dream to inspire a song or an album?
SAMM!: Of course, that dream has become a reality. I’m living it now.
FreshMusicWorld: How do you stay motivated to keep creating music?
SAMM!: Creating because I love, not for any expectation.
FreshMusicWorld: How do you stay connected with the messages and themes in your music?
SAMM!: Everything I wrote, I’ve experienced, so I can relate pretty easily, as my songs are my thoughts.
