Artist Spotlight: Brian Turner

Based in Texas, Turner’s musical foundation stretches back to childhood, singing in church and discovering early on that his voice carried something special. From elementary school performances to formal vocal training in college, his journey has been shaped by both faith and discipline.

We sat down with Brian Turner to talk about their creative journey, inspirations, and what’s next.

FreshMusicWorld: What originally drew you toward making music as a form of expression?

Brian Turner: I want to reach the world to let them know God is with them. Also, God can do anything. All you have to do is trust Him, believe, and he'll do it.

FreshMusicWorld: At what point did you begin to take music more seriously?

Brian Turner: I started taking music seriously in High School when I was a D.J. with my friends. Then I wanted not just to spin records, but to make records.

FreshMusicWorld: How do songs or ideas usually begin for you?

Brian Turner: Songs,or ideas begin in my head.By reading or saying something, I think, "I can write a song about that.

FreshMusicWorld: What helps you stay creative when things feel uncertain?

Brian Turner: Prayer always helps, or just sitting down, and thinking it through.

FreshMusicWorld: How would you describe your sound to someone hearing you for the first time?

Brian Turner: I would describe my sound as similar to other artists, but with a little twist. A twist of R&B and Hip Hop.

FreshMusicWorld: What feels most authentic to you about the music you’re making right now?

Brian Turner: I believe my words and lyrics are authentic.

FreshMusicWorld: What felt most important for you to express through your latest release?

Brian Turner: Whatever the problem is don't stress; just pray. It'll all work out..

FreshMusicWorld: What have you learned about yourself through releasing music so far?

Brian Turner: New levels of faith in the word, no matter how long it may take. Your prayers can  be answered.

FreshMusicWorld: What kind of connection do you hope listeners take away from your music?

Brian Turner: Joy, Love, and hope.

FreshMusicWorld: What are you most excited to build next as an artist?

Brian Turner: To build and to grow as an artist.
