Thxrsday is an artist born in Thornton, Colorado, and raised in Tennessee that makes emotionally resonant music. His single, “O V R T H I N K” comes from the album of the same name. This single is built on an experience Thxrsday had and the album is built on concepts like this, introducing listeners to who he is as a person and as an artist.

While Thxrsday’s background is being a producer, he has moved to the mic with this stage of his musical career and is ready to share stories of his life through his lyrics.

"I started as a producer but ironically as a vocal artist, I like working with other producers. That way I already have a beat to use." he said

The track “O V R T H I N K” is solemn and vulnerable as Thxrsday recaps details of a relationship he was in. When creating the track, he knew he wanted to say how he truly felt about it and give his perspective. The track sits at home in the alternative rap lane, with a guitar carrying the melody of the track and skittering drums giving it a good amount of bounce. This guitar based melody is the key for setting the atmosphere of the song

"When I made the song, I was feeling a little guilty personally but I hope people can translate the situation I talk about in the song to their own situations." he said.

For many people, listening to music is therapeutic but for Thxrsday, making it is too. In the past, traditional therapy wasn’t working for him so he shifted to expressing his thoughts and feelings though music. This is why the music he makes is so vulnerable and truth ridden, it's him actively taking the weight of life off his shoulders and converting it to music.

"My songwriting is very emotion and memory focused. I like writing about experiences I've had and the emotions I felt within them. However, I still try to make the stories I tell relatable to people so they can see themselves in them." he said.

When artists are truthful in their music, they can sometimes compromise themselves or others in a variety of ways. Thxrsday is well aware of this and is careful to not share too many details for this reason but also to keep his music relatable. By connecting to his listeners through relatability, they’re able to use his music as an outlet for expression, just like making the music is for him. It’s a beneficial cycle.

A debut project is an artist’s surefire way to introduce themselves to their longtime and new listeners. Thxrsday has gone from the boards to the booth and now can share what’s been happening in his life not only during this transition but throughout other moments too.

"This album is an introduction to who I am as a person. The heartbreak, the love, the luxury, just everything I've been through." he said.

“O V R T H I N K” from the album of the same name is out now.
