America’s Got Talent introduced millions of viewers to Brook Lynn. Now, with “Love Your Enemy,” she’s showing them what comes next.

Before AGT, Brook Lynn had already built a large international audience through her performances online. Her rendition of Amy Winehouse’s “Back to Black” generated more than 11 million views on TikTok, adding to a growing collection of performances that showcased both the power of her voice and her ability to make familiar songs feel personal.

For years, those interpretations were how many people first discovered her. But for Brook Lynn, singing other artists’ songs was never the final destination. Behind the covers, she was developing her own music and figuring out exactly what she wanted Brook Lynn to sound like.

“Love Your Enemy” became an important part of that transition.

Released in August 2026, the deeply personal song turns the familiar phrase inward, exploring the realization that sometimes the person you fight the hardest is yourself.

The idea comes directly from Brook Lynn’s own experience with anxiety and the internal battles that can come with it. Rather than writing about defeating an outside enemy, the song is about recognizing the conflict within yourself and learning how to show that same person compassion.

That message took on even greater meaning during Brook Lynn’s time on America’s Got Talent.

When AGT reached out, accepting the opportunity meant confronting something Brook Lynn had spent years struggling with: the fear of putting herself fully in front of an audience. She ultimately made the trip from the Netherlands to Los Angeles, advanced through the competition and reached the live shows.

But one of the most significant choices she made during that journey was deciding to put her own music on the stage.

Brook Lynn ultimately chose “Love Your Enemy” for one of the biggest moments of her AGT journey, debuting the original song live on the America’s Got Talent stage.

The performance immediately drew an unexpected comparison from the judges.

Sofía Vergara told Brook Lynn, “This song should be in a Bond movie. It was amazing.”

Simon Cowell agreed: “I thought the same thing. It was like a James Bond soundtrack. You did really, really good there.”

For an artist who had spent years becoming known to audiences through interpretations of other artists’ songs, performing her own music on that stage represented something different: an opportunity to introduce people to Brook Lynn not simply as a vocalist, but as an artist with her own story to tell.

“Love Your Enemy” was written by Brook Lynn, Mario Jefferson (R!O), John Thomas Roach (JT Roach) and Kyle Owens (K.O.), a creative team whose collective work includes artists such as Chris Brown, Usher, Lil Wayne and OneRepublic.

R!O also serves as Brook Lynn’s producer, developing the sound behind this next chapter of her music.

That next chapter continues with Brook Lynn’s upcoming EP, Tales From The Woods.

The project will include “Love Your Enemy” and further introduce the sound and creative world Brook Lynn calls Forest Pop.

Rooted in Brook Lynn’s connection to the woods where she grew up in the Netherlands, Forest Pop brings together emotional pop songwriting, powerful vocals and cinematic production with a darker, atmospheric edge. It is less about fitting neatly into a traditional genre and more about creating a recognizable world around the music.

The forest is both real and symbolic.

Brook Lynn has often compared anxiety to being lost in the woods: not always knowing where you are going, feeling isolated and trying to find your way forward. That imagery has gradually become part of the way she expresses herself through her music and visuals.

But the idea is not about escaping the forest as quickly as possible.

For Brook Lynn, learning to move through uncertainty has become just as important as finding the way out. That same idea sits underneath “Love Your Enemy,” where self-acceptance does not mean every internal struggle suddenly disappears.

Tales From The Woods will give Brook Lynn more room to explore that world through original music and establish Forest Pop beyond a single song.

It also marks another step in the transition already beginning after AGT: moving from an artist millions have watched interpret powerful songs to one inviting listeners into a musical world of her own.
