VIRGINIA - After spending two decades in the U.S. Air Force in space operations, Coco Kimmie is shooting for the stars again with R&B vibes mixed with a little hip hop and jazz. “Come Over,” produced by DreZimmer, is her fourth single and cements Coco Kimmie as a rising star in the industry.

“My music comes straight from my soul,” said Coco Kimmie. “It has a soul vibe to it, and it’s a combination of neo-soul and hip-hop. With my music, I want to raise the vibration. I know it sounds bizarre, but I feel like music can heal people. I create music to touch people so that it raises their vibration.”

“Come Over” is set in a post-pandemic world where the separation and isolation felt during the lockdown is ending as people gather. Understanding the effects of the pandemic, Coco Kimmie knows firsthand the anxiety of facing the new normalcy of living with COVID-19 and its aftermath. “‘Come Over’ was created when I longed for my family and friends to visit, spend time with them, and hug them. I wanted to turn the negativity of the isolation into something positive and uplift people,” she said.

Coco Kimmie is a strong, independent woman whose strength and determination shine through every lyric and melody. The New Jersey native combines her positive message with her sultry yet smooth voice that lies at the heart of “Come Over.” With glimpses of musical perfection from the likes of Jill Scott and Erykah Badu, “Come Over” ranks up there with hip hop classics from the 90s, but in true Coco Kimmie style, she adds a little more to the single.

“I have a combination of different tempos, and it’s off the sound that I’ve created which makes it unique,” she explained. “There are elements of many different R&B artists in my music. As I travel through life and listen to different sounds, everything becomes ingrained into my DNA. It’s a combination of hip-hop sounds that are rooted in Gospel and R&B.”

As she continues to write, Coco Kimmie is working on a collection of songs to be released in February 2022. At the same time, a music video for “Come Over” will drop. The indie artist said fans should expect the songs to have her signature R&B sounds and be a bit jazzier and reveal more neo-soul vibes.

“My desire is to expand beyond ‘Come Over’ and to create songs for every occasion, every feeling. There’s a lot of emotions that we experience as human beings, and I like to try and use my creativity to capture that,” she said.

Looking at her discography, Coco Kimmie is tapping into the hearts of listeners and using her velvety voice to bring those raw emotions to the surface while providing some R&B inspiration with a modern twist.
