LOS ANGELES - At just 16 years of age, singer/songwriter True Istina has taken the music industry by storm. Her unique blend of power-packed energetic music is fresh, hip, and contains a sexy modern twist to the pop, alternative, and dance genres. True Istina appeals to fans of all ages and walks of life, focusing on catchy melodies and lyrics rooted in independence and empowerment.

“The message behind each song is very important to me,” said True Istina. “I have two sides to my music. I have the side where I have more messages and meanings. And then I have the side filled with hope, faith, and my values.”

Honesty in her music is paramount. Even her name, True Istina, reflects her authenticity. Paying tribute to her grandparents who immigrated to the U.S. from Croatia, she selected Istina, which means truth in Croatian.

True Istina’s debut single, “For Fun,” is an upbeat, uplifting, ready to dance along with song. “When I wrote it, I wanted it to be what you think of when you think of a really fun day, but the story behind it is evolving,” she explained. “In the first verse, it talks about how you’re being pushed down, but you don’t want to be, and you’re finally starting to stand up for yourself. In the chorus, you’ve decided not to play any more games. The second verse is that nobody will stop you when you take control of your life. The bridge is when you know who you are, what you’re doing, and what you want. You are not going to let anyone dictate it to you.”

With well-thought-out lyrics coupled with a soulful optimism, True Istina uses her voice to create a melody with a fresh, modern feel that will continue to strengthen as she progresses. From “For Fun’s,” folky beginnings with handclaps and tight lyrics flow, showcasing her versatility with the energy of a seasoned musician.

In addition to writing “For Fun,” True Istina co-produced the single and sang harmony on the track. Joining her in the studio was her 13-year-old brother and mother, who contributed by singing backup vocals.

Inspired by Carrie Underwood and Pentatonix, True Istina’s powerful voice is her greatest asset. Coupled with her songwriting abilities, True Istina’s future is bright. In January, the “For Fun” music video will drop. Follow-up singles such as “Nu Life,” “Walkin the Line,” and “Fantasy” will drop on streaming platforms leading up to the release of her self-titled album, “True Istina,” on March 3.

Make sure to stay connected to True Istina on all platforms for new music, videos, and social posts.
