LOS ANGELES - Remember when your mother said, “All good things come to those who wait.” - the wait is over, as Charley proves that quality is better than quantity. Her latest single, “Crave U,” is a masterful mix of sensual R&B vibes sprinkled with a bit of pop.

Charley’s songs vary in tempos, showing her versatility, but “I gravitate to songs that bump,” said Charley. “I want them to be powerful, like something that you can listen to really loud. Most of my songs have a retro type of vibe to them.”

While future releases will feature a lo-fi hip hop sound while being dark and edgy, “Crave U” is Charley at her authentic self. “I sing about what is real. My spiritual growth has been very raw, pure, and unapologetic. I accept myself and accept my experiences without bias or judgment. That’s my authentic self,” she explained.

Extending that philosophy further, Charley’s latest music video for “Crave U” incorporates a 90s sound and vibe coupled with a 70s aesthetic. With lyrics based on a long-distance relationship and yearning for her partner to return, “I wanted it to be sensual, but I didn’t want it to be over-sexualized. But I want you to know that I’m craving this man,” she said.

The single “Crave U” will drop on streaming platforms on Jan. 6, but the music video is available on YouTube. Filmed in several locations around downtown Los Angeles, the videography is unique. Using a filter to add nostalgia, the 70s vibe of the track brings the song full-circle - today’s sounds mixed with the best of yesterday. “I picked the 70s vibe because people always tell me that I’m like an old soul because I really love oldies music and the disco era,” said Charley.

Produced by Veteran Beatz x Replay with the videography by Denise Tomkinson, the “Crave U” music video is sultry, sensual, and classically filmed to complement Charley’s strong vocals. In addition to taking a key role in the video’s production and working alongside Tomkinson and makeup artist and stylist Elizabeth Wade, Charley works in the film industry. She has worked with other artists in creating artistic magic. “I am an all-around visionary as an artist,” she said. “I want to create the whole immersive experience. I plan on using cool visuals and animation for my upcoming videos.”

Charley takes inspiration from Rihanna and Aaliyah, and she stands out from other rising artists with lyrical vibes and the brilliance of songwriting. “I stand out a little bit more lyrically because I feel like these lyrics and topics are a bit redundant nowadays,” said Charley. “People are always trying to put others down in their music or make others feel inferior based on superficial reasons. I want to move people emotionally with realness and real feelings rather than just excite them. I create songs that will create a relatable story to bring people closer together rather than separating them because we’re all more alike than we think.”

With “One,” an EP set to release in 2022, Charley will drop two of its melodic rap singles, “Shooter” and “A Sad Birthday,” in January. Make sure to stay connected to Charley on all platforms for new music, videos, and social posts.
