DURHAM, NC - Growing up in the projects and slums in Durham, O SIN chose to overcome street life and now is sharing his struggle out of the hood, one song at a time. With a flow as raw and aggressive as his lyrics are viscerally prolific, the rapper “preaches the gospel - the street gospel.”

“O SIN” is an acronym for “Original” black man, and “SIN” for “Surviving In Negativity,” O SIN said, “I overcame a lot and was a product of that environment, living the street life and going back and forth to court and spending a short time in jail, I was caught up in the street life. I overcame a lot of those obstacles from the support and love of my loved ones. Sometimes you gotta leave where you’re from to get out of those daily thought processes.”

O SIN described his music as rising from the street, “You’ll hear me say some deep things, and inside the same verse, talk about figuring a way around it while keeping your eyes on the snakes… This stuff is real for me. To the people that listen to my music, I am trying to be what I needed coming up and trying to say what I needed to hear.”

As a producer, songwriter, and artist at Stiff Arm Records, O SIN motives inner-city youth with each lyrical rap. “My lyrics are visual, and I lean toward storytelling,” he explained. “I lived it, and by speaking about it, I can give a different perspective on my life experiences. I can talk about what happened and then navigate through it.”

O SIN’s latest project, “Code of Silence,” is a seven-song album that expands on the street code to stay silent. “Code of Silence” is a fusion of soulful hip hop that revolves around timeless things. Taking inspiration from music greats like Jay-Z and Nas, O SIN’s music has staying power and authenticity in each bar.

“Take What’s Mine” featuring Lor Sosa is O SIN’s debut single, and his fans, from his days in the underground scene to new fans, love his gritty and rugged “street gospel.” The track describes bar for bar how O SIN overcame hardships as a teen, with the song’s climax detailing how he turned a bad situation into a positive.

The music video was filmed in Durham, as O SIN paid homage to his hometown. With more than 134K viewers, the video is further proof that O SIN is a rising artist with no signs of slowing down.

Throughout 2022, O SIN is preparing for an upcoming tour and plans to drop “Stand On It” from “Code of Silence.” Directed at MCs, the single is a testament to the world that O SIN is a serious artist who can break it down next to anyone. O SIN is a solidified lyricist, and he’s here to stand on that, “I’m not to be played with,” he said.

In the meantime, O SIN urges everyone to listen to his music and states, “It’s dope. Bar for bar, I’m unmatched. I’m untouchable. It’s the real hip hop that is missing right now.”
