DALLAS - Cay10 is well-known in the Lone Star State, but the release of his recent album, “Story Of My Life Volume 2,” will make this young hip hop and R&B artist into a household name across the U.S. and beyond.

Born and raised in the Dallas area, Cay10 was immersed in all genres of music, which led to the fusion of R&B, hip hop, and pop, creating his unique style of alternative R&B, which contains few if any, explicit lyrics.

From the “Story Of My Life Volume 2” album cover, it is evident that Cay10 is not “just another” hip-hop artist. With a red background, Cay10 created a dual image of himself. “It’s literally back for oneself. It’s two of me into one. So, it looks like I have a twin, but my twin is my confidence in a sense. My twin is like me, being me helping myself,” said Cay10. “

“Story Of My Life Volume 2” is a collection of 20 tracks released on Cay10’s 20th birthday. As an independent artist, the significance is not lost on him. “I have a good feeling about this album,” he said. “My music is influenced by what I go through in my life. First is ‘Story Of My Life Volume 1,” and now with volume two, I put all the real stuff that I went through on it -I’m not faking it.”

Cay10’s latest album has a chill vibe that showcases his unique sound with a sultry yet snappy voice depending on the song. “Roses,” the first single off the LP, is a melodic masterpiece where Cay10 lays out his vulnerability in every verse. Perfect for radio play, the song was inspired by an Instagram bio of a girl Cay10 met at a club. “I heard the beat, and I imagined this girl I met, but I barely knew her. On her Insta bio, there was a rose. So, I imagined going out to dinner with her,” he explained.

Using a flow of anticipation and possible love, “Roses” conveys soothing feelings of devotion and getting to know a significant other. It is the start of a love woven into Cay10’s metaphoric delivery.

After listening to “Story Of My Life Volume 2,” it is difficult to believe that Cay10 recorded and produced the album without going into a “studio.” Cay10 takes complete ownership and control of his music. For him, it is a labor of love. “I record all that at home, and I master all this stuff myself,” he said. “I want my music to help people get through their day and make it positive.”

As “Roses” contains to gain airplay and streaming views, he believes more fans will get to know and love his sound. “The new generation loves to hear a new sound,” Cay10 stated. “I’ve got a broad avenue of talent that compares to none.”
