After her September 2022 Single Release of her new Roller-skate song that is her favorite past time pleasure, The Count Down continues with her next new Single Release called I WANNA BE, scheduled release February 2023.

This is a first ever collaboration song that she features a new upcoming African Artist from Ghana.  Returning from Accra, Ghana with several Afro-Beats tracks to complete her new Album called “Get Your Roll On” this coming Spring 2023 she says will suit her Fans taste for this new musical genre and dance sounds.

“It can be for everybody,” she says. “Get your roll on! Truck drivers, bicyclists, skiers, race car drivers…Get your roll on!”  In addition to dedicating a few tracks to the D.C. Go-Go sound to the roller skaters out there, QueenE introduce a few tracks under the AfroBeats genre on this Album.

And between these two latest Single Releases where she pays tribute to DC and the city’s go-go music, a subgenre of funk music, she adds the AfroBeats genre songs to introduce to her Fans and close out her Album.

“I like to open up with a gospel and hopefully close with a gospel and in between it’s all go-go and R&B and now some AfroBeats,” she says. “I came up under the Motown sound too, so I love my R&B.”

Old Skool QueenE started working on the album during COVID shutdowns in 2020 and plans to release it early next year 2023. She’s already dropped three singles, including “God’s Angels” and “Keep My Dollar.”

“God’s Angels” was written while watching the Black Lives Matter protests on television.

“We were all stuck in the house and watching it on TV,” she says. “They were chanting and I was like look at those angels. That’s God’s angels in the crowd. Black, white, Indian, everybody was mixed out there marching. Those are God’s angels all mixed up out there.”

“Keep My Dollar” is a socially conscious song that borders on rap, with Old Skool QueenE declaring she’s going to “Keep my dollar in my hood / ‘Cause this is what I know I should.”

Old Skool QueenE has been making music since she was a teenager but only started producing and releasing tracks a decade ago.

“I never got my big break when I was a young adult,” she says. “I started my family and started raising my children.”

Now a grandmother, “I still like to get my groove on,” she says.

“I just like music,” she says. “I just like to do the darn thing. I’m a creator, an Artist.”

Old Skool QueenE released a book of poetry in 2020 and also hosts a podcast where she imparts old-school wisdom for new-school listeners. She’s planning a tour across the US to promote “Get Your Roll on 2” at various skating rinks.
