With lyrics such as: “F**k Jay-Z;” “they sacrificing loved ones for money;” “true Black Jew… shot outs to Kyrie and Kanye;” “Drake and Lil Wayne stole my song;” and “they tried to frame my n***a (R. Kelly) as a little girl rapist,” Milwaukee artist Ronnie Bo is calling for justice for singer R Kelly in a song that could arguably be considered the most controversial song in Hip Hop history.

Ronnie Bo, who spent time in federal prison with the famous singer, said his own personal experiences convinced him that R Kelly’s 2022 conviction on a variety of criminal charges was wrong and someone needed to tell his side of the story.

“It’s not that he convinced me,” Ronnie Bo said. “It’s that going through what I went through, seeing the injustice of my case, then seeing similarities in his case, he didn’t convince me of anything. When I first met him I told him I didn’t think he was guilty, I told him I know he didn’t do that.”

Ronnie Bo, born Ronnie Martin, is an author, songwriter and rap recording artist from Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Since the age of nine he had dreams and potential to become a rap star, and he had made prosperous strides towards that even while being unlawfully incarcerated for drug related crimes throughout his music career.

While serving time in prison Ronnie Bo felt as though his music career had ended and so decided to invest his writing skills into a new career as a book author. He wrote two books: a Black empowerment book entitled “The Holy Trap Scriptures,” and a women’s empowerment book entitled “Value of The Vagina.”

After serving time with R. Kelly at MCC-Chicago and being released from federal prison in 2021, he found new hope for his music career.

Ronnie Bo is working to re-release his 2009 album entitled GRIND NOW SHINE LATER Volume I, with two new albums entitled GRIND NOW SHINE LATER Volume II and GRIND NOW SHINE LATER III, all of which are expected to be available in 2023, in addition to a new book entitled GRIND NOW SHINE LATER–The Memoir: Based on A True Story.

Prior to the world premiere of his anthem ‘Free R. Kelly,’ Ronnie Bo conducted a sequence of contentious interviews on multiple podcasts such as JuiceTalkTV, All Viral Access Media and The Lionel B Show regarding rumors regarding his relations to R. Kelly and allegations of Cash Money Records artists Drake and Lil Wayne stealing one of his songs.

Such controversies led to yet another podcast interview with Terrence ‘Gangsta’ Williams who happens to be the younger brother of Cash Money Records CEO Brian ‘Birdman’ Williams.

And with Terrence Williams being a hot topic of discussion in the Hip Hop community himself, the interview sparked more contention with Ronnie Bo that may have ruffled the Birdman’s feathers.

Shortly after Ronnie Bo addressed these controversies publicly on social media, whether by coincidence or conspiracy, his Facebook and Instagram accounts were permanently restricted.

Ronnie Bo said he believes that he will be blacklisted from mainstream music and media platforms in the same manner but courageously accepts the challenge with confidence that his new single “Free R. Kelly” will conquer the charts and inspire other independent artists that they too could be major without a major record deal.
