Texas-based singer-songwriter Michael Boyd—otherwise known as Infinite Emotion—is set to release his debut album, a carefully crafted blend of Indie rock and electronica designed for self-reflection.

“This album is about the individual and ego and learning how to navigate life, different experiences, and emotions—both good ones and bad ones,” shares the artist. “I wanted to create an album that inspires reflection.”

Featuring 13 tracks, the album is filled with “lighter and darker” songs, according to the artist. “I don’t have any favorites for different reasons, but ‘ChemiKool’ and ‘Origins’ are the two singles I listen to the most,” he adds.

“I put a lot of myself into the album. I thought of ways my life compares to other people’s lives and how to connect to people in that way. Things I share with the average person. Things I’m working on or struggling with—experiences both good and bad. That’s really been the focus of my music so far.”

The album was co-written with his producer in San Antonio, Cory Brunnemann. Together they sat with a playlist of songs that fit the vibe Infinite Emotion wanted to capture. While Brunnemann worked with instruments—often beginning with the guitar, sometimes a bass line—Infinite Emotion hummed out ideas, and together they developed a song. Next came the songwriting process. “I write all my vocals in the car. I just drive around and sing along to the beat until I get the lyrics I want.”

Lyrics come naturally to the artist, who began writing at a young age. “I started writing on a notepad when I couldn’t sleep at night when I was 11 or 12 years old,” explains Boyd. “When I got into high school, I tapped out simple beats on my legs and wrote to those. I always did things like that—it was never my intention to release it, I just liked writing lyrics.” The songwriter has come a long way since those days—in fact, he has now been writing for nearly 20 years!

Nearly four years ago, Boyd joined the metalcore band, HopeFool, staying for nearly two years until he realized he wanted to expand and try different types of music. “That’s where the name ‘Infinite Emotion’ came in—it describes many types of songs. The human experience has many different emotions and colors, and I want to explore all of them.” The artist’s shift toward a wider range of music is what led to his first album—the indie-rock electronica album called “Vibe Daddy.”

“Vibe Daddy” is set to release on April 21, 2023. Infinite Emotion is also working on putting out music videos for each of his upcoming songs. Additionally, this upcoming autumn, he hopes to go on tour to share his album with live audiences.
