MARYLAND–The Love Prophet’s name connects with the messages in his songs. The singer and guitarist, who also goes by Frederick Vermillion, has released 5 singles in the last 7 months,  including his latest single “Young Lover.”

“That's just about growing up and dealing with dating,” says Vermillion about the track, writing about his personal experiences with a mix of pop and electronic, including percussion and synthesizers that The Love Prophet records himself–with the help of his producer Yan Dollar.

“The [songwriting] process is just remembering the experiences and recording them. The songs are about the trials and tribulations of relationships and people understanding other people's feelings is a good thing.”

While growing up writing about these experiences, The Love Prophet was meeting others in the DC-Maryland-Virginia (DMV) area, learning acoustic guitar but transitioning to electric as he joined local bands. Vermillion says that compared to his solo music, his past musical ventures are nothing at his current level.

The Love Prophet has been working with Maryland-based producer Yan Dollar for his singles and intends to take his music on the road, more specifically targeting a European audience.

“I would like to go to Europe because the type of sound that we're developing right now is big in Europe,” says Vermillion, who connects his music to the euro pop genre. “I would think that the European adventure would be like a catalyst to experiment on how well the music is received.”
