“Reflections,” is the second single by songwriter/Producer, Pamela Edwards McClafferty. Inclusiveness is one of the central themes on her NOW album. A favorite quote of hers on inclusiveness is by Verna Myers. “Diversity is being invited to the party. Inclusion is being asked to dance.’”
Reflections on the NOW album is one of her thoughts on inclusion to bring people to the “dance.” The whole project is a call for us to think about ourselves and our times. To find ways forward to celebrate our differences and include us all in the solutions of our problems.
Reflections is not your average pop song. Singer Lain Roy is only accompanied by Tzuriel Tong on strings, Michael Parnell on piano and Cooper Hyde on guitar. With Lain Roy’s powerful interpretation of the lyrics and Tzuriel Tong’s beautifully crafted response to Lain with his violins, viola and cello, Tzuriel’s strings are a reflection of Lain’s verse. The interaction of Lain and Tzuriel is integral to the song’s deeper meaning.

Pamela is a writer, a bestselling author, an award-winning producer, a clothing designer and a songwriter, with a lifetime of being exposed to, and involved with and influenced by the arts and artists of the world.
She and her “husband and best friend,” Award winning producer/writer Mark McClafferty, formed Spellbound Pictures, and created an international consortium to produce 12 family films, including The Climb, winner of six international film festival awards, including the UNICEF award. The pair have an eclectic resume from film to comedy. Mark is also a producer of the musical, Artland, a collaboration between Pamela and the world-famous Jazz bassist/ composer Stanley Clarke and recent recipient of the National Endowment for the Arts Jazz Masters Fellowship.

Pamela thinks it’s difficult to find time in our busy world to even think, let alone to see who is standing right in front of us. She hopes by Lain singing Reflections people will take a moment to reflect, to just listen and think about the questions in Reflections.

Lain Roy’s resumé includes musician, songwriter and actor. Lain was raised in the small town of Larkspur, Colorado in a musical family. His mother was a touring musician and also appeared on “You can be a Star”. He attended Berklee College of Music and later Belmont in Nashville. he appeared as a contestant on American Idol and later was picked by Gwen Stefani’s team on The Voice. Lain now lives in Los Angeles,
Mark McClafferty adds, “Lain has a unique voice and one that is memorable.”
“Reflections” is the second of eight tracks on the Now album. The first track, released June 1, was Pamela’s “Shades of Black and White,” an entrancing, fascinating, six-minute rap covering the history of African Americans from 1619 to the present. Pamela plans to release the next song, “Where Are the Leaders,” in August. After that is “Whose Rights Are Right” and “Hurt.” Then comes a comedic rap — “There’s a lot of humor in the world if you look for it.”
Pamela’s ideas of inclusion are themes in the Now Album. “Basically, my music states, as many artists including my partner and I believe that art can play a part in bringing people together. Jesse Jackson says, ‘When everyone is included, everyone wins’. What a beautiful thought and it is also worth repeating my favorite quote from Verna Meyer ‘Diversity is being invited to the party. Inclusion is being asked to dance.’ I believe we should all be dancing,” Pamela says.
