TDE rapper Ray Vaughn has taken aim at Joey Bada$$ on a new freestyle over Kendrick Lamar‘s “The Heart Pt. 6” called “Crashout Heritage.”
Released on Wednesday (January 8), the song comes in response to the Pro Era rapper’s own recent track “The Ruler’s Back,” which contained some choice words for West Coast Hip Hop.
“Crashout Heritage” hears Vaughn spit: “What’s with the sneak dissing? Taking shots at us then hide the Uzi / ‘Cause the only badass the world was recognizing is Boosie / Please don’t get confused with shooting them movies with really shooting / Was on Soul album so if you ask me, you look like a goofy / I hope this message reaches you well.”
He also raps: “Man, fuck being buddy-buddy with n-ggas dissing in public / But see us in private and try to act like a distant cousin / We ain’t doing no budging, we ain’t dapping and hugging / And if we gotta stand alone we gon’ stand alone like a plug-in / I love it, and all that distance we’ve been getting from y’all, just double it As long as we got Mustard then we gon’ keep moving upward.
“Real talk, all these King Arthurs to me looking like busters / When y’all had y’all 10 minutes of fame, we ain’t saying nothing / Went and put Giuseppes for clout chasing, it’s outrageous / Go and make them hits that you not making without hating.”
The Long Beach native concluded his lyrical tirade by spitting: “If you don’t like the way we pop it then stop picking up our slang / At least the homie was direct when he was mentioning y’all names,” referencing former labelmate Kendrick Lamar.
In case it wasn’t clear who he’s addressing, Ray Vaughn tagged Joey Bada$$ on social media while plugging the song, writing: “2025 no sneak dissin, only crashouts. @joeyBADASS.”
Joey isn’t the only target, though, as “Crashout Heritage” also features shots at Tory Lanez, DDG and podcaster Mal.
“And Tory, you should bе ashamed of yourself / ‘Cause DDG needed to sell, you did a verse from a cell / ‘Fore you went the jail, in the booth, me and you was Kenan and Kel,” he raps, referencing the pair’s recent collaboration “Handling Business.”
Though it’s unclear what Vaughn’s issue is, the track found Tory revisiting the night Megan Thee Stallion was shot and attempting to get under the Houston Hottie’s skin: “Only one thing I regret about that night is jumpin’ up outta that pool with Kylie.”
Vaughn goes on to support Lanez, who is currently serving a 10-year prison sentence for shooting Megan, rapping: “Don’t think you shot her, I was prayin’ for your freedom as well.”
As for Mal, the TDE rookie appears to threaten violence against the pro-Drake podcaster: “I treat Mal like orders from Temu, he’ll get boxed bad.”
None of the people mentioned in the song have yet responded.
