Record Shopping with... Bee Bee SeaThe Beatles – Please Please Me: The Beatles were the first band the three of us fell in love with. When we started out in 2010, before writing our original songs we used to be a ’60s cover band and many of the songs on this record were in our repertoire.

GIACOMO PARISIO (bass)

Record Shopping with... Bee Bee SeaFlatworms – self-titled : I was buying an LP for my girlfriend on the Castle Face Records site, when suddenly a candy pink and white vinyl stole my attention. I read it was a project from the Oh Sees’ bassist so I decided to give it a go and … boom, love at first listen and I was like “okay, shut up and take my money”.

Record Shopping with... Bee Bee SeaCream – Disraeli GearsThis record is a perfect manifesto of the Summer of Love, when Eric Clapton used to be cool. I had been looking for an old copy of this for years, but I just ended up receiving a reissue as a present…but of course I’ll still keep looking for an old copy as well.

Record Shopping with... Bee Bee SeaThe Black Angels – Death Song: This album is quite different from the others…. just the title says it all. The Black Angels have always had these creepy and obscure melodies in their songs, but on this record that’s even more than ever; and it is something I really love about them. When I bought the album, I was sure it wouldn’t be a disappointment and I was right.

DAMIANO NEGRISOLI (vocals, guitar)

Record Shopping with... Bee Bee SeaThe La’s – The La’s: One of the many good things about being an Oasis fan is that you might stumble across a wonderful record like this. I will quote Noel Gallagher’s words on this album: “Even though it’s a standard form of guitar rhythm and blues, it’s totally unique. Lee Mavers’ lyrics are great, his voice is amazing and the whole vibe of The La’s is amazing. People say Mavers is mad or a tortured artist but he isn’t. He’s just lazy. Well, either that or he doesn’t want to tarnish the reputation of what he knows he’s already achieved.”

Record Shopping with... Bee Bee SeaBuzzcocks – Another Music in a Different Kitchen : I was listening to the Uranium Club with some friends in my car. At one point one of them said “yes they’re good but it really reminds me of Buzzcocks!” and I was like ” what?! No way!” and then he played ‘Fast Cars’ and I realised he was damn right!

Record Shopping with... Bee Bee SeaBRMC – Self Titled: I had completely forgotten about this record! I was digging through the LPs at Rough Trade, when I came across it and gosh, how I love it! I haven’t listened to it for at least 10 years, but it’s just so amazing. ‘Whatever happened to my rock n roll’ literally blew me away! ‘Red Eyes and tears’, ‘Spread Your Love’, ‘Love Burns’ are all such fantastic hits!! And it is through BRMC that I discovered so many psych rock bands.

ANDREA ONOFRIO (drums)

Record Shopping with... Bee Bee SeaThe White Stripes – White Blood Cells : For a while, every time I’d play a new song the general tip was: try to play as bad as Meg White.

Record Shopping with... Bee Bee SeaThe Kinks – Self Titled: When we started playing, I was advised to listen to this record and look for inspiration there.

Record Shopping with... Bee Bee SeaMetallica – Master of Puppets: They were the first band I saw live and I will never regret that.

Check out more photos from the shoot below, along with the video for ‘I Shouted’. As always, a huge thank you to Rough Trade East for their generous hospitality.
