Brooklyn, NY — Award-nominated rapper, producer, and activist I.K.P. (The Infamous King of Positivity) opens a new chapter with their powerful new single “FTW” - For The Win. Blending grunge and crunk rap with unfiltered emotion, the track channels rage, redemption, and celebration while signaling a refreshed creative spirit.

After stepping away from music following their 2021 release, I.K.P. found themselves drawn back to their roots. “I had really been trying not just to find a new purpose, but renew my own spirit,” they explain. “You can’t pour from an empty cup, so I refilled mine. And now I’m ready to serve.”

The inspiration for “FTW” came from a spontaneous online collaboration. “The producer threw this beat at me one day, and I felt it right away,” I.K.P. recalls. “I took it as a sign. It was go time.” The result is a hard-hitting, rhythm-driven anthem that reintroduces fans to I.K.P.’s signature edge and fearless energy.

While the song packs plenty of grit, it’s also about transformation. “That was probably the first time I’d done a song like ‘FTW,’” I.K.P. says. “It helped me tap into that thrashing, mobbing, wild chaos. It was fun to revisit that energy.”

Beyond the music, I.K.P. continues to use their platform to champion visibility and empowerment in hip hop. “There’s so much information, disinformation, and erasure of people and time periods,” they say. “I’ve been out the whole time I’ve done music and seen a lot of evolution happen. People like Lil Nas X helped ‘gather the children,’ but we can’t forget those who came before.”

Named Tenant of the Year in 2020 by the Supportive Housing Network of New York, I.K.P. has long turned lived experience into purpose. After overcoming homelessness, they successfully advocated for millions in supportive housing funding and now collaborate with organizations such as Hunger Free America and the New York State Department of Health to address food insecurity and poverty. “It’s not a persona, it’s my life,” I.K.P. says. “Once I decided to only do work that feeds me and gives back, everything flowed naturally. Positivity is built into all of that.”

For I.K.P., FTW represents more than a comeback—it’s about gratitude and self-determination. “Winning is waking up every day with gratitude,” they reflect. “The fact that I can still make music and do what I love is a win.”

“FTW (For the Win)” is available now on all major streaming platforms.
