ATLANTA — Built on decades of friendship, athletic discipline, and creative chemistry, hip-hop collective Music League Ballers are stepping into the spotlight with their confident new single, “We Major.” The group—comprised of Keys of Knowledge, Trap Jackson, and Yam—channels the mindset of competitors and collaborators into a track that reflects both their journey and their hunger to win.

The foundation of Music League Ballers stretches back more than 20 years to Gwinnett County, Georgia, where Keys of Knowledge and Trap Jackson grew up as neighbors. Both were dedicated athletes, competing on teams across the north side of the county and building reputations for leadership and drive.

“Twenty years ago, we were in a cul-de-sac playing basketball for hours or inside playing Madden,” Keys recalls. “Seeing it unfold now is crazy because you never would have known it would turn into this.”

Their musical journey began in 2015, when the two reconnected while attending Bethune-Cookman University in Florida. What began as a casual reunion quickly turned into the start of something bigger.

“I can remember driving an hour to Trap’s house thinking we were about to take the music to the next level,” Keys says. “We spent two or three hours just talking about where we were in life. We didn’t even lay a track down, but the vision could be seen.”

That vision continued to evolve after Keys relocated to Atlanta in 2018. There, he met Yam, a producer and engineer working out of a home studio that quickly became a creative hub. What started as a collaboration grew into friendship and mutual respect.

“You ever see somebody make gold out of nothing?” Keys says. “That’s what Yam was doing out of his house. The songs I started falling in love with were the ones he had something to do with.”

When Trap later joined them in Atlanta, the trio’s chemistry solidified into what would become Music League Ballers. Their collaborative process reflects the same teamwork they once displayed on the court.

“We think of it like a basketball team,” Keys explains. “One person sets the play up, then the next person comes in. Nobody’s fighting over who does the hook or the bridge—we just keep the energy flowing.”

The group further strengthened their sound with an ambitious challenge called 30 for 30, where Keys and Trap recorded 30 songs in 30 days. The project helped shape the confidence and chemistry that now define the group’s music.

“I think that was the foundation,” Keys says. “Individually, we all had confidence through the roof. The real challenge was figuring out how to package that together.”

That spirit of collaboration and drive is evident in “We Major,” a track that blends bold lyricism, energetic production, and a universal sense of momentum.

“It started with the beat,” Keys explains. “The energy behind the production took it there, and when Yam came up with the hook, everything just kept elevating.”

For Music League Ballers, the song represents more than just a release—it’s a statement about self-belief and collective growth.

“Just keep it major,” Keys says when asked about their message to listeners. “Don’t ever let anything stop you. We’re just trying to show people how dope you can be in your own skin.”

With dozens of songs already recorded and new releases on the horizon, the trio is focused on building momentum while staying true to the competitive spirit that started it all.

“Individually, we were all good,” Keys adds. “Together, the goal is to be even better.”
