Singer, songwriter and performer Sophia Sugarman is ready to take on 2026. With a passion for authentic vulnerable songwriting, her latest single “Do You Feel the Way I Feel?” is a pop track bursting with grooves and a relaxed but upbeat atmosphere. It was a journey for her to get to this point and in her eyes, it was all worth it.

Written in 2025, “Do You Feel the Way I Feel? explores the inbetween: the excitement of new love mixed with the quiet fear that it might not be real. Sophia leans into that tension, questioning whether the connection is mutual or just another situation that could fall apart without warning. The bass line heavy track sits comfortably in the pop genre as Sophia’s light vocals almost mask the uncertainty of the subject matter. Like all of Sophia’s music,“Do You Feel the Way I Feel?” was written from a place of truth and she hopes listeners can connect with it. Whether she’s writing in the studio or getting her thoughts out at the keyboard at home, Sophia always leads with emotional resonance. This process makes things easier as her natural thoughts and feelings go from her mind to the page. “Sometimes I’ll write something in the moment and not even fully understand it until later. My best songs come from when I’m overwhelmed–it’s how I make sense of everything going on in my life.” she said.

Sophia’s background also includes writing for other artists. Originally, she felt a way about having them sing her thoughts and emotions but later grew to understand that the songmaking process is centered around exchanging ideas with the vocalist. The final results would contain emotions and perspectives from the both of them, solidifying that the song was a joint effort. “At first it felt strange hearing someone else sing something so personal, but I realized the song evolves. It stops being just mine and becomes something bigger.” she said.

The collaborations continued with Sophia’s tracks with French DJ/producer Hugel and French singer/songwriter John Mamman. She recorded and shot the music video for the latter in France and the song is special to her.

“I was recording in John Mamman’s studio. He heard my verse and said he wanted to be a part of it. I was surprised and honored. He also said he wanted the song to be in French and English. My mom is from Paris and I speak French fluently. This collab was special because he helped me write in French and it was all such a cool experience.” she said.

Sophia is looking forward to having opportunities to perform in 2026. As a perfectionist, she and her team work hard to make sure every aspect of the live performance is exactly as she envisions it, down to the tiniest detail. She’s also glad to have been signed by Maison Sonics Recordings, where she is surrounded by individuals who not only support her creative vision but have the talent and means to bring it to life. “There’s a different kind of freedom when you’re performing live,” she says. “You can experiment, connect with people in real time, and build something that only exists in the moment. I’m always nervous at first, but once I settle in, it’s the best feeling in the world. It’s why I fell in love with being a singer.”  she said.

Sophia has plans to release more music in the coming months which will culminate with an album release.
