This Q&A gives fans a deeper look into the mind and journey of one of music’s most respected voices
FreshMusicWorld: What do you enjoy doing outside of music when you have free time?
Mohan: Honestly, I'm always creating something. If I'm not making music, I'm probably building a website, working on an app idea, or starting some random project that caught my attention. I enjoy bringing ideas to life. Outside of that, you'll catch me hooping or getting on the game with friends.
FreshMusicWorld: How do you balance your personal life with the demands of your music career?
Mohan: For me, it's all about taking care of my responsibilities first. As long as I'm handling what needs to get done, whether that's work, the gym, family, or personal goals, I can fully lock in on music. Once I'm in that creative space, I give it everything I've got. Balance comes from making sure I'm growing as a person while still chasing my goals as an artist.
FreshMusicWorld: What’s your favorite way to relax and recharge after recording or performing?
Mohan: I'm not gonna lie, give me some good food and a good show, and I'm straight. After spending hours creating, sometimes the best thing I can do is just unplug for a minute and enjoy the simple things.
FreshMusicWorld: What does happiness and fulfillment mean to you, both personally and professionally?
Mohan: Personally, happiness and fulfillment are having the freedom to wake up every day and spend my time doing things I genuinely love. Professionally, it comes from creating music that connects with people on a real level and leaves them feeling inspired, understood, or motivated in some way.
FreshMusicWorld: How do you manage stress and take care of your mental well-being?
Mohan: Music has always been my biggest outlet. A lot of times, the things I don't say in conversation end up in a song. Creating helps me clear my mind, process emotions, and stay centered. It's something I'm passionate about, but it's also something that helps me mentally.
FreshMusicWorld: What are some of the most valuable lessons your music journey has taught you?
Mohan: One of the biggest lessons is that passion will get you started, but effort is what takes you somewhere. When I listen to the music I made years ago compared to now, it's honestly crazy hearing the difference. Every improvement came from showing up consistently and putting the work in, even on the days I didn't feel like it.
FreshMusicWorld: How do you stay grounded and connected to your roots as you continue to grow as an artist?
Mohan: The people around me keep me grounded. My family and close friends knew me before any accomplishments, before any milestones, before any attention, before any checkpoints. Being around people who genuinely care about me and not what comes with music helps me stay connected to who I am and where I came from.
FreshMusicWorld: In an industry full of pressure and trends, how do you stay authentic to yourself and your art?
Mohan: I pay attention to what's going on in music because I love the culture, but I never want trends to define my sound. I take inspiration from a lot of places, but at the end of the day, I want people to hear my music and feel like they're hearing me. If something fits naturally, I'll explore it. If it doesn't, I'm not forcing it.
FreshMusicWorld: How do you deal with public expectations while protecting your sense of identity?
Mohan: I think it's important to stay open to feedback without letting it control you. I'll listen to criticism if it helps me improve, but I don't base my identity on public opinion. I know who I am, I know what I'm trying to build, and I hold myself to standards that are higher than what anyone else expects from me.
FreshMusicWorld: How would you describe your artistic identity and what sets you apart as an artist?
Mohan: My artistic identity is built around freedom. I've never wanted to be boxed into one sound, one emotion, or one lane. Some days I want to make something melodic, other days I want to make something energetic or reflective. I look at music as a way to capture different moments and emotions as they happen.
What sets me apart is that I give myself permission to create without limits. A lot of artists feel pressure to follow what's working or stay inside a box that's already been created for them. I've always believed the best music comes from being free mentally, taking risks, and making the song that feels right instead of the song people expect you to make.
