ATLANTA - As an underground and independent artist, President Hill entered the industry with a banger. “You Feeling It Shawty” is gaining traction as fans discover the southern rapper, President Hill.

“I went from the street life to working a few jobs to running successful businesses outside of music,” said President Hill. “I kept grinding it out on the low in the home studio, building my catalog, and staying steady with my craft. Now, I say this humbly; I’m ready.”

President Hill described his musical style, “I can go in so many lanes, but it is pop-ish, trap-ish, and indie. It’s really of a mixture of those. I also like to slice some country stuff in there with the southern baseline.”

As a CEO of Merciless Nation record label, producer, writer, and performer, President Hill released “You Feeling It Shawty,” a single off his upcoming 22-track album, “The Elected Official.”

Released in Nov. 2021, the club jam “You Feeling It Shawty” has gained a following for its laid-back, old-school rap of the early 2000s. Born and raised in Atlanta, President Hill uses “shawty” in daily conversations. While its verse invites you to dig in, the chorus is fun and takes listeners back in time, from the pounding bassline to President Hill dropping expressive lyrics with his smoky voice.

One thing that puts President Hill’s music in a different category from other trap artists is the beat modifications. “I like to change the beat up at least three times in every song while constantly injecting power into the beat,” he said. “So, my flow pattern will switch up with the beat pattern and keep you guessing.”

“The Elected Official” is a collection of songs that showcases President Hill flexing his muscles on the rights and wrongs of the world. “I’m dealing with regular pop stuff to play in the club, Black on Black crime issues, people we lost, putting value back in the family,” he explained. “At the same time, it’s still gangsta.”

Rising from the days when he spent his days hustling on the street, President Hill is on a mission to change the next generation’s mindset. “When you have talent, you can sway the next generation,” he said. “We can explore our impact and still affect the next generation. It can still be gangsta and classy.”

President Hill is a rising artist just getting started with no signs of slowing down. “If you dig this flavor,” he said, “just wait until you see what is next.
