With a message of positivity that emphasizes redemption from tragedy, Casey's Shadow – a little island pop jam with accompanied short story to follow – discusses making the right choice and not being like Casey but seeking the help of others making good decisions and keeping your smile.
The song begins tranquil as the sun rises waking smiling Casey from his sleep as the church bells ring in the new day.
Casey a fisherman in a seaside town, lies with his girlfriend Kayla but does not wish to begin his day. He is calm and at ease with her but knows the day and his boat are calling for him. He wishes for the evening when he can come home and be by her side again as they are so much in love. Fishing is slow and his girlfriend cried the evening before over so many bills to pay. Casey is desperate and does not wish to see her beautiful eyes cry. He has been always smiling and happy as a child and he is desperate not to see her eyes cry again. Though Casey is not a killer he turns in desperation to murder for money "the gift" that will reconcile his bills and make his girlfriend happy again. His death though not spoken about is tragic but he is redeemed by God in heaven and undressed of his sins. He may be redeemed as an angel. Hopefully to watch over his girlfriend who misses him so.
Dorrell and Murrell bring Casey's Shadow to the forefront with Dorrell Salmon's melodic keyboards and Gina Murrell's honey, sweet and beautiful voice. Their music and vocal styling captures the intensity and love of Casey.
Bushka is hoping viewers are drawn into Casey's Shadow and they enjoy the music video and short story to follow. Viewers may view the lyrics as tragic while the music upbeat. The contrasting emotions show that while Casey's love for Kayla is true. His resolution of his financial woes are both worrisome and devastating.
Bushka does not duplicate his music as every song has a value on its own merit. "Writing music is celebrating the uniqueness of each song. It is not an assembly line of the same ol' same ol' rehash."
Hopefully Casey Shadow will bring a bit of interest in its uniqueness to the viewer. "I hope the viewers enjoy and relish this little island pop jam."
