Dr. Clement Iyoha, lead pastor at an Atlanta, Georgia-based church and CEO of a nonprofit organization, sends a musical message of love through his latest single, “Profit (without love).” Set for release on February 1, 2023, “Profit (without love)” is an afro beat song with a strong social message. “It’s all about love. Without it, there is no meaning and we lose our soul,” emphasizes Dr. Iyoha.

The single opens with an upbeat (yet calming) vibe. It then flows through smooth vocals to deliver a serious message surrounded by rhythm and positivity. Inspired by two books of the Bible—1 Corinthians 13:1-3 NIV and Mark 8:36—Clement Iyoha developed “Profit (without love)” for all music lovers, not just Christians or church goers. In fact, the single doesn’t reference Jesus at all.

“It’s a general song,” shares Iyoha. “Just because I’m a pastor, it seems like I write gospel, but I’m really saying to everyone that we need love. We’re lacking love right now as a society. We shouldn’t be judging or taking advantage of people—we should love everyone. I pray that people get to learn one or two things from me.”

Serving as minister at several churches in Africa, Europe, and the United States, Dr. Iyoha believes in the power of love and community. Born in Nigeria, Dr. Iyoha is the fourth of nine children and was raised in a parsonage from age 12, when he began to write and sing gospel songs. He went on to join the band Victorious Voices in 1992 and released a double album, “Baba and No one like Jesus.” Later on, Dr. Iyoha went to college to become a pastor, leaving behind his commitment to music to further his goals.

After taking a step back from music to focus on service, Dr. Clement Iyoha has since returned to music and is ready to spread his message through song. In addition to singing and songwriting, Dr. Iyoha is a talented keyboard and acoustic guitar player. His latest single is based on personal experiences and the Bible. A husband and father of three, Dr. Clement Iyoha relies on rich life experiences, family, and community to create his personal sound.

While writing “Profit (without love),” Dr. Clement Iyoha began with the music. In the studio with his producer, Dr. Iyoha focused on creating an afro beat first. “We laid down the tracks first, then put the beats together. After that, the lyrics only took 2-3 days to write,” shares Dr. Iyoha. The single is the last track written for his upcoming album, yet everyone’s favorite. Before the end of the year, he looks forward to sharing his complete album with the world.

This year, Dr. Clement Iyoha is looking forward to developing not one but two albums—an English-language album and a traditional Nigerian native album. “It’s the second time I’m doing this,” shares the artist. “I want to release two different albums with two different meanings.” In the meantime, all Dr. Iyoha wants us to remember is to have love. “We should all love one another in spite of our race and beliefs. God wants us to love one another. That’s what I’m trying to spread to everyone. We’re love bankrupt right now. We need love now.”
