Hip-hop artist and rapper, Cue MaB sets the mood for his upcoming mix tape with the release of his single, “Bout Time.” His tape, “I am Moon” is scheduled for a June 2, 2023 release.
Born in Newport, Rhode Island, the rapper moved to Baltimore, Maryland, and later Massachusetts. “I’ve been doing music since I was a little kid,” shares Cue MaB. “But it wasn’t until I was 19 that I started taking it seriously. What I laid down at the studio was hot, so I kept making music.”
Under the label, BagBrodie Records, Cue MaB has been releasing music for the past few years. Previous single releases include “Can you vibe?,” “Flowing wit cue,” and “Quick Question.” He also dropped a 2021 album called “Quality over Quantity.”
“Bout Time,” the second track on “I am Moon,” is a personal song. “The song is self-explanatory,” says the artist. “It’s about me. I went into the studio and wrote the song based off how I was feeling.”
Twenty-two years old with “a lot on his mind,” Cue MaB isn’t afraid to get real with listeners. The self-proclaimed artist and poet writes with purpose—telling his truth.
“I want listeners to know that what I’m spitting is different than other people,” explains Cue MaB of his sound. “There’s no need to lie. I’m not just going to go to the studio and waste money. This is real. Everything you see around me is me.”
As many artists know, the journey isn’t only about making good art (or in this case, music)—it’s about community. Fortunately for Cue MaB, his friends are also involved in the music industry. “My boy helps me out with my videos. He’s also featured in my mix tape. My man holds it down for real.”
Up next for the artist is the release of his “Bout Time” video, followed by his mix tape in June. Cue MaB is also looking to do shows this year. With many releases to look forward to, it’s going to be a fast-paced year for this young rapper. You don’t want to miss it.
