Drake has called for Tory Lanez‘s release once again after the rapper was sentenced to 10 years in prison for shooting Megan Thee Stallion in both feet.

Lanez was found guilty in December 2022 of three felonies related to the shooting in 2020 and began serving his 10-year sentence the following August.

He was found guilty of all three charges pegged against him: one count of assault with a semi-automatic firearm; one count of carrying a concealed, loaded, and unregistered firearm in a vehicle; and one charge of discharging a firearm with gross negligence. The rapper-singer has maintained his innocence from behind bars and was granted a chance to appeal the judgement in July.

Earlier this year, Drake shared a photo of Lanez to his Instagram story with the caption “3 you” but didn’t elaborate further on his comments.

Now, the Canadian singer has called for Lanez’s freedom again during his Drizzmas Giveaway stream with Adin Ross on Boxing Day (December 26).

At one point, Drake took a moment to express his excitement for Young Thug‘s first new material following his release from jail last month. Young Thug was released after pleading guilty to gang, drug and gun charges, ending the longest criminal trial in Georgia history.

“Shout-out to Thug, I can’t wait until Thug drops. Drake and Thugger, of course,” Drake said of a potential collaboration. “W Thug, welcome home!”

He then went on to give Lanez a shout-out, adding: “Free up T, man. Free up T. I know they don’t want to hear me say that. Free up T.”

It comes just days after Megan Thee Stallion sought a restraining order against Lanez following alleged harassment through third-party surrogates.

Megan claimed, via the Associated Press, that Lanez was harassing her from prison through third-party surrogates. A petition alleged that prison call logs at the California Correctional Institution in Tehachapi showed that Lanez had been coordinating attacks on her credibility.

It highlighted multiple bloggers allegedly acting on Lanez’s behalf to make false claims online about the case, including that the gun he used and bullet fragments were missing.

A court hearing about the order is scheduled for January 9.
