SZA took a moment to reflect on some hard times and appreciate her journey after a fan shared a clip that was taken early in the pandemic.

In the video, the SOS songstress is quarantining at her childhood home in New Jersey and excitedly sharing some cool pieces she found in her mom’s closet.

After retweeting the clip to share with her followers, SZA also responded to the post to give some background.

“Covid was hard … my granny had just died .. I was hella depressed n masking,” she wrote. “Not eating. Over working out . but I always had my childhood home to n get lost . Still do . Grateful to be in a much better mental space now. [heart emoji] s/o to those days tho.”

These days, SZA is a superstar following the global success of her 2022 album SOS – which just returned to the top of the charts following the arrival of its 15-track deluxe, Lana, on December 20.

For the purposes of the chart, all versions of the album are combined under the title SOS and the project has shifted 178,000 equivalent units over the last week, mostly thanks to the new release.

If Lana had been released as a standalone project, it would have still debuted atop the Billboard 200, with its 15 songs amassing 105,000 units on their own — 5,000 more than Michael Bublé’s Christmas which sits at number two on this week’s chart.

Twenty two months have passed since SOS last topped the Billboard 200, making it the longest gap that any album has returned to the top spot.

SZA’s blockbuster sophomore LP has now spent 11 nonconsecutive weeks at number one and has never fallen out of the top 20 of the chart since its release two years ago.

SZA celebrated the continued success of SOS by thanking fans on her Instagram Stories.

She also wrote on X: “If it wasn’t for Gods favor over my life this year boyyy. My parents are healthy. won 3 Grammys. went number one again. Sang on Sesame Street. Shot a movie. Shot a vogue cover. Toured the world. Got a songwriters hall of fame award. WHO JAH BLESS NO MAN CURSE!! NO MAN!!! AMEN.”
