Rapper Rod Wave was arrested in Georgia yesterday on 14 counts including aggravated assault, possession of a firearm and felony tampering with evidence.

The musician, known for hits like “Tombstone” and “Street Runner,” was detained in Fulton County and released on $50,000 bond yesterday, according to court records reviewed by Variety.

The arrest was connected to an incident that took place on April 21 when the rapper (born Rodarius Green) returned to his home following a burglary. At his residence, an argument ensued and a pistol was fired 14 times, striking several cars and a wall in the home.

In a statement provided to VarietyRod Wave‘s attorney Drew Findling said, “There is no truth to these charges. Rod Green was a victim of a burglary and committed no crimes. How he was even charged as a result of this situation is incomprehensible. This will absolutely be resolved favorably to Mr. Green.”

Rod Wave was previously arrested for possession of ammunition or a weapon in Florida in April 2024. The arrest was made on suspicion that he had been involved in a gang-related shooting that left four injured. Police stated that shots were fired among a group of men in a verbal argument, and the victims were three men and a woman who suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

In 2022, he was also arrested and charged with battery by strangulation in Florida. He was accused of choking an ex-girlfriend while their two children were inside the home. The charge was later dismissed, as his lawyer at the time chalked up the incident to a “misunderstanding” between him and his ex.

Rod Wave most recently contributed the lead single from the hit film “Sinners,” and last released his sixth studio album “Last Lap” in Oct. 2024.
