Music Venue Trust (MVT) has welcomed award-winning British rapper, songwriter and entrepreneur Tinie Tempah as its latest patron, recognising his dedication to supporting and safeguarding grassroots music venues across the UK.

First making his name in South London's grime scene, Tinie went on to achieve worldwide success with tracks such as "Pass Out," "Written in the Stars," "Not Letting Go," and "Girls Like." Throughout his career, he has collected two BRIT Awards, an Ivor Novello Award and seven UK Number One singles.

The announcement arrives alongside the physical launch of his fourth studio album, The Night’s Not Dead, which is being released on 2LP vinyl, CD and cassette on 6 November 2026. Having first arrived digitally in October, the record marks his first full-length album in nine years and pays tribute to nightlife, collective experiences and the underground music scene.

Tinie has already worked closely with MVT and Save Our Scene to bring attention to the challenges threatening independent music venues. He has also taken part in MVT's Everywhere At Once festival, further demonstrating his support for the grassroots music community.

Discussing his new position, Tinie Tempah said: "Grassroots music venues are a huge part of my story. The night ‘Pass Out’ went to Number One, I was celebrating at 229 on Great Portland Street, surrounded by the people who’d been coming to my shows from the start. That’s where I put in my 10,000 hours, where I learned my craft, built my confidence and connected with fans. Without them, I genuinely worry about where the next generation of artists will come from. I’m really proud to become a patron of Music Venue Trust."

Mark Davyd, CEO and Founder of Music Venue Trust, also shared his thoughts on the appointment, adding: "Tinie Tempah’s career demonstrates exactly why grassroots music venues matter. These are the spaces where artists find their voice, develop their skills and build the audiences that can take them to the world’s biggest stages. We’re delighted to welcome him as a patron."

Tinie now joins a group of established MVT patrons that includes Norman Cook (Fatboy Slim), Jamie Cullum, Chris Hawkins and Ciaran Lavery. His current UK tour is set to wrap up with a final performance at London's Roundhouse on 3 December 2026.
