Features : South Florida artist offers fiery greatness with new single ‘Fuego’

ORLANDO, FL – Everybody has the ability to be great. That’s what Nicholas Garcia believes, anyway. And it’s that passion for perfection that has led him on a journey toward greatness.

Operating out of South Florida, this hip-hop artist who fuses EDM and various other genres into his music is serving up an announcement to the world with his new hit single “Fuego.” True to its name (“Fuego” means “Fire” in Spanish), the song is hot and sure to create a fever in listeners all over the world. Nick uses EDM synths with a syncopated rhythm against an old-school hip-hop sound that’s reminiscent of the West Coast rap of the late 80s and early 90s. But there’s a modern-day groove that’s catchy and ready-made for the clubs. “In order to achieve greatness you’ve got to find something you really enjoy doing,” Nick The Great said. “It takes a lot of work. I’ve spent a lot of time studying and working at it in order to get where I am today. I think I have a unique ability to pick the right sound and style at the right time. It’s hard to say exactly what sets me apart – my voice, a bit … but I think it’s more about how I put it all out there and how people accept it.”

Unlike some artists who map out everything and spend hours toiling over the writing process, Nick the Great lets the sum total of his life and experiences come together at opportune moments in order to create spontaneous and organic recording sessions. Whatever comes in the moment, that’s what he’s going with. He trusts the work he’s put in prior to those moments, and knows that what comes out organically is likely the best thing for whatever song he's creating. That’s how “Fuego” came to be, and he said he’s excited to share the song with the world.

“A lot of people might have a certain idea of what they want to create, but I try to be open and let it develop through the process of creating,” he said. “I think with this song I’ve found a sound that’s different than most songs out there today. That’s kind of the point – I don’t want it to sound the same as anything else. I want to be known for high quality music – music that is really great. I’ve written a lot of stuff, but I’m really picky in what I release because it has to be great to share it with the world. There is a moment where everything you’ve done before comes together with where you’re at in the moment and it creates the perfect song, and that’s what I feel like I’ve accomplished with ‘Fuego.’”
