PRODG (pronounced “PROdigy”)  is an artist whose music is built around a creative blend of versatility and authenticity. His single “Invincible” is a fusion of high energy rap and rock meant to motivate listeners. PRODG’s background is the singing world but his newfound passion is rap. The track is a showcase of his love of both.

“Invincible” is appropriately titled as PRODG discusses overcoming obstacles and enduring through them. The first half of the track finds him in a rap lane while the second half leans more towards his rock roots as a powerful guitar riff comes barreling in, highlighted by a more aggressive delivery from him.

“At first, all I heard was the guitar riff from my producer Leland Elliott. Just based on that, I knew I had to have a powerful word that would match it…Once you get through the storm, you feel invincible.” he said.

The way PRODG balances rap and rock in "Invincible" is a testament to his love of both genres and a homage to those who paved the way for this style like Linkin Park. He has goals to form a band one day which will elevate the live show performance aspect of his music.

“With rock, I can take a more freeform approach. I can use repetition for emotional emphasis. I can say exactly what I mean lyrically and infuse the melody of the song into those words. With rap, the focus is the amount of syllables I have and making sure I use creative punchlines and bars that stick. The creativity of the wordplay, things like double entendres, all of that is the focus.” he said.

The name “PRODG” is one that was formulated through a blend of happenstance and creativity. It’s one that stands out immediately and showcases his identity before people even press play on the music.

“When I was doing a freestyle one time, I said ‘Professional rapper, Old Dylan is gone, see my name is even a bar.’ I just made an abbreviation of that, with P-R-O-D-G.” he said.

PRODG’s music is emotionally focused because of his upbringing. Growing up in the country, he had lots of time where he was by himself and experienced “privacy and peace.” He hung out with friends too but when those moments ended, all he had was himself. These moments allowed him to self reflect and find out who he truly was. In these moments of quietness, he learned to face himself and conquer his demons head on.

“We learn from the darkness and destruction that we go through. It allows our souls to grow once we overcome it.” he said.

In these moments of isolation, PRODG turned music into a powerful and inspiring tool.

“Growing up, I was impressed by how music made me feel. It made me feel less alone. Heartbreak is what led to me writing my own music. I was going through a situation and I asked God to give me something that would take away the pain I was going through. Then, it was like He placed an image of a notebook in my mind and I wrote a song called ‘Words I Never Said.’ I had never rapped before writing that song.” he said.

PRODG wants to form a team of individuals that are all focused on reaching mutual success. With his dedication as an artist at the forefront, he has no doubt the right people needed to achieve his goals will come into his life.
